THE BOSS Maguire Stomped The Naysayers! But...8 Months Later, Here We Are.

looks like the media's destabilisation campaign hasn't worked ... reports today that the club is looking to extend Madge past 2027 as they believe he is the man to lead us to premiership number 8.

I hate to quote Morris, but he is the one getting himself in the media:

“I certainly see that (Maguire can be our long-term coach),” he said.

“We won a grand final last year.

“The season hasn’t gone as hoped due to the horrific injury toll the Broncos have had, but we think ‘Madge’ is the coach to deliver us our next premiership.

“It’s about winning games and we think he is the best coach for the Broncos.”
But the Broncos have been particularly impressed by how Maguire has held his nerve throughout all the adversity.

“Everyone that comes to the Broncos from other clubs is surprised by what it’s like,” Morris said.

“We are a one-team town.

“There are lots of clubs in Sydney and you can think you’re the centre of the universe, but when you come to Brisbane it’s a lot more intense and he has adapted to that extremely well.”

The season to-date

“This season has been up and down,” Morris said.

“The resilience of everyone at the club has impressed me. No one doubted it would turn.

“There was always a belief it would all come together once the right players were back on the field.

“We’ve used 32 players this year and it’s difficult to win games when you only have 50 per cent of your salary cap on the field.

“He has done well with not only the top 30 in the squad, but others because we have run out of players.

“No one likes losing and it’s all about winning, but once we got our players back on the field we saw what happened against Penrith.”

Yeah, I reckon that would still be the case with any contract extension. They won’t extend MM within a week or 2 & for sure they would hold on. They would definitely want to see how we go on about rest of the season and then make a call.

That call would determine if it’s a 1/2/multi year extension.

I think after one narrow win over the panthers we cant adequately answer what happened in our season defining game against the competition bottom feeders, the dragons. Madge not out of the woods by any stretch

Agree, but it puts serious doubts about the validity of the "Madge has lost the playing group" bullshit from the media.

If we just miss the finals; I will happily bet my house on the fact conehead will rip in to maguire and neglect to see the irony in his entire "but kevvie was only 20 mins away from a premiership" argument (close enough is only good enough if its a mate)

I always cringe when I see people make fun of gordie crying.

We should probably remember the reason he was so emotional and take a look at ourselves if that's something we want to joke about
Nah .. he has nothing to cry about..

He can stick that ****ing cone up his ****ing arse...
He didn't try to help..
Just make it ****ing hard...

I just can’t feel sorry for a guy who talks so much ****ing shit about people he perceives to have slighted his friends. He never shuts up about it either, it constantly gets brought up.

He is a bully through and through.

Yeah I certainly dont feel sorry for him but I can sympathise with the circumstances particularly with Kevy and Billy and losing his wife/mum at an early age.

I just think making fun of gordie for it is a bit of a low blow. I'd much prefer to call him out on the hypocrosy of his commentary, rather than his emotional response to something that actually makes him a compassionate human being. Just my thoughts, nobody needs to agree with them.

I pretty sure.
People aren't give him shit for showing emotion about those things.
It's the comments about the other shit he says.
