There's two games at the centre of police match-fixing probe from 2015: Manly v Souths (R16) and Manly v Parramatta (R24). @7NewsSydney

Parramatta...

Why am I not surprised?

Round 16 - Souths 20-8 Manly
Round 24 - Eels 20-16 Manly

Wonder if it's match fixing by the club or the officials.

I wonder if a certain players well publicised gambling problem has anything to do with this.

PSA: Don't bring up names without sources please guys, but otherwise speculate away :D

Manly being involved in both matches is interesting, or maybe just a coincidence. But yeah Nashy I mainly would love to know if it's a club or NRL officials being investigated.

Weidler just confirmed that it's a player at the centre of the drama.

Someone from the 2015 Sea Eagles with gambling problems...

Makes you feel for Tooves.

From memory they were in it until RND24 last year but had a stinker, sealing their fate?

They're investigating at least 4 NRL players and a "Gambling identity".

Shit, this is potentially really ugly & dangerous.
Please no.
Pleeeease no.

If they are guilty. The NRL, and police, need to stand strong, and not pussy out of this.

Given the player on everyone's lips like to sue everything like an American, lets not say his name, but we all know. If proven correct, 2016 is a year he will want to forget.

Isn't it a straight up life time NRL ban for anyone found to be involved in match-fixing? Ryan Tandy got a life time ban, and he only did it in one game.

Parramatta...

Based on the fact that Manly is involved in both and lost both matches in question, I would say they are the ones that should be concerned. Pretty hard to fix a match that you are to win.

There's different types of match fixing, for example Ryan Tandy's was to have a penalty goal be the first score of the game. It's still plausible that the other teams in those 2 games may have been involved.
