I'm fine with making the merch an optional paid extra. It was never free, the cost was always baked into the price of the ticket. If I choose to order merch, like I did this year, then I'd rather decide based on the offering. I don't need a new hat every year

They don't miss out. In fact, they get a better pack than what the average members do.

They get a jersey as well as tickets for the corporate boxes.

My brother works for one of the sponsors of the club. The big boss got corporate tickets for every home game this year to use on clients or just for himself. They always use them on clients, though. My brother regularly gets tickets for the boxes and takes clients with him.
