OFFICIAL Michael Maguire Appointed Head Coach

DIdn't realize Casey was around, that's pretty cool.

I dunno, powerhouse reads successful to me. Successful teams win things, not just "good team of the year" awards. And while years 11-16 were better than 24, they both ended with the same number of trophies.

Aflie getting sacked as on field trainer is actually a great move.

Get a professional communicator and fitness guy in there. Someone who can read the players and improve the messaging between the coach and the players.

I'd actually like to know if this was Madges or Alfie's decision.

I've seen differing reports on this one

Kind of hoping it was Madges.

Let's get a professional in there. Dust alf for functions and community programs.

Casey not Josh.

Reed may not have won anything, but he certainly was part of some pretty good teams, and I would take 11-16 over this year.
What is Casey's role? I thought he was living up in Gladstone area?

Dyer has been there since 1995 and Scanlan 2008. I think they have done a fair stretch and McGuire won a comp.
Fair enough you’ve probably got me here but not a lot to rally the troops behind there…

Not that it’s been working for us

Probably Alf's, just another example of an old boy showing solidarity

The report I saw said that Alf wanted to scale back his on field role and take on another role within the club.

I can certainly understand that position, he's been doing his current role for a long time, and he's certainly getting on in years.

Fans of other teams will have to find something else to complain about other than the amount of time Alf spends on the field!
It's such a stupid argument... they only talk about Alfie, because they recognise him, without acknowledging that every fucking team has a trainer out there for the same amount of time... they just don't know their fucking names.

Fucking morons all of them
