Milford

2 things I need to say about Milf:

1. There was a last tackle play in the 2nd half where he was looking the wrong way and the ball came to him just as he turned around, forcing him to rush his kick and it turned out not to be threatening. This is the milf I know.

2. They can't be serious that Milf gets a fine for that push? Can anyone remember the Titans game we won earlier this season where Oates intercepted and scored? After the try the Titans player elbowed him in the back of the head. As far as I remember there was no in game warning or penalty and nothing at the MRC...

What a joke. An absolute joke.

and your happy for that to be the norm?
That NRL players are fined for bumping & pushing?

They aren't, only Brisbane players are, just like only Brisbane players have to serve a suspension when fit, only Brisbane players grounding the ball don't count and only Brisbane players commit 6-again offenses.

It was so bittersweet watching Milf play like that the other day. It's akin to hooking up with an ex, it's all hot and firey without the baggage, but when you wake up in the morning you're remember all the reasons you let it go, while still having a sense of nostalgia and "What could have been". In reality if you're honest, you know it ran it's course.

My hope is he kills it at Souths, and perhaps finds his way back here. I can't imagine he'll want to leave Brisbane (I mean as his home) and will get quite homesick in Sydney. As always "It's all up to Milf". Balls in his court.

Was nice to see him play well though. Hopefully this from continues and leaves on a high note, of sorts.

Eternal Sunshine of a Milford's Mind?

If he was playing like he did last weekend as early as Round 1, I would be okay with retaining him on a cheaper deal, but sadly it's too little too late for Milf, and I would be of that opinion even if he hadn't signed with Souths. I find it awfully strange that he decides to light it up again as soon as he knows he will be elsewhere next year, in particular under Bennett for even 1 season. Maybe he was one of those players that weren't happy with his departure and it reflected in his form. The timeline matches at least.

Have I missed something? I thought Wayne was out of the Rabbits by end of this year?

He must be shitting himself now wondering how TF he is going to cancel his trademarked, deeply embedded, slow self destruct trojan horse that he scheduled to activate after November 1.

So what is he doing between leaving the Rabbits and coaching the expansion team? Becauce I highly doubt that team is being introduced next season.

assuming he doesn't take an off field role with the Rabbitohs (working from Brisbane) ... he'll be busy recruiting 30 players and organising his coaching team with the expansion team

Reality is that'll come in 2024. He'll be 74.

Jack Gibson @ Parra? 54 when he left and 58 when he left the Sharks in '87.
Sheens? 62 when he gave it up.

Compared to AFL (Barassi, 49 (at peak) Clarkson, 54 and Fagan, 60) or even Sheedy who went to GWS at a relatively old age of ... 65.

Are the new Brisbane club(s) really going to base the foundation of their entire club on a '3 year career as coach' at which Wayne will be 77? The entire time will be succession planning. At best, he'll be a coaching director above a coach - which he should've been here. But, I guess we'll find out in the book.

How much does Wayne really have to do with the coaching these days? It seems like he's already been a defacto coaching director for the last decade or so while the assistants have been the actual coaches.
