Mundine 'dogs' title fight

Anthony Mundine is accused of "dogging" his IBO world title bout against Rob Medley, which was sensationally cancelled on Monday after Mundine failed to make the weight.

The controversial boxer abandoned ambitious plans to make light middleweight less than a week left before Monday night's opening bell.

Team Mundine has reneged on meeting Medley at 69.9kg - yet blamed the IBO for a debacle that threatens to short-change ticket holders and pay-per-view subscribers.

Team Mundine demanded the IBO install a NSW-only judging panel and referee for the Sydney Entertainment Centre stoush, and simply walked away when their wish was denied.

But many feel the excuse was merely a smokescreen to hide Mundine's apprehension at entering the ring a whopping 6kg below his previous fighting weight.

Isnt Danny Green a good boxer?, Daniel Geale? as he said last night he has trouble getting up for these fights as he has nothing to prove.
The problem overseas is nobody wants to fight him, but a big fight will be made after he whips Garth Woods.

Following the St George-Illawarra Dragon's shock last minute loss to the Melbourne Storm in the 1999 NRL Grand Final Mundine reportedly entered a state of severe depression, prompting him to undertake a soul-search tour of the world during the off-season. He initially spent time with the Yaohnanen tribe on the southern island of Tanna in Vanuatu to study the Prince Philip Movement - a cargo cult that believes Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is a divine being - under tribal elder Jack Naiva.
