My thoughts on the games so far (not many thoughts)

The Broncos are just doing enough to win.

The only hiccup so far is the Cowboys game.

IMO, they're not showing their hands until later on in the season.

We're going along nicely and showing everyone we can succeed without Locky.

Kinda wish we could mash Griffin's defence with Henjak's attack.

But whatever, just like last year its working.

So long as Wallace is fit and firing we can go along way this year.
So glad we re-signed him and Cronk didn't want to come to us. For the price we'd have to pay for Cronk we would need to shed 3-4 good players.

Like Gould says, this team is looking very good.

Kinda agree with that. The defence, mostly, has been bloody awesome, until concentration lapses later in the games.

Need more variety in attack. The 5 repeat sets without a try on the Tigers line shows that.

I thought that the repeat sets on the Tigers line showed maturity and patience. if we couldn't score we at least put it into the in goal for a repeat set. Locky and the other commentators seamed to agree with me. On Gillett, I think he should (an will now Parker is back)go back to the bench. His 2 worst games of the season have been in the starting team. He even bombed a try with the line wide open although he should have been given a point for the field goal

I felt bad for Locky in commentary last night.

Obviously couldn't talk up the Broncos when the rest of the team was talking up the Tigers like nobodies business. You could clearly hear he was a bit uncomfortable and when he was away from them he was able to express his own opinion on the game.

If they're serious about Lockyer being apart of the media, they need to get him away from the Broncos games for awhile. He needs to be more than 'that' Broncos guy.

Agree Big Pete, Lockyer seems a decent commentator but I'd like to see him not commentating Broncos games. I also hope someone throws Wally Lewis off a bridge lol

Thoughts...they are just scraping through so just really wanting them to get through to Origin and then come out firing. They look good, they have last year to propel them...just too early to get excited.

Griffin has done brilliantly with the defense. He's taught real defensive structure with players supporting each other.

His next task seems to be to do the same for the attack, which seems to lack penetration, and starting with 2nd man plays, and worked moves with runners in support of Norman, Wallace and Hodges.

Gillett and Hodges are the only 2 players in the team with a "natural" instinct to support.

Watch the Storm - a team of 10 relatively average players, and you understand all about support play - and the set plays which create the opportunities for the supports to take advantage of.

I think there are a couple of obvious things we need to work on, notably our red zone attack and support play. That said, it is only Round 6, and the effort and application so far is fantastic given how early on it is. Other than the unfortunate injury to Yow Yeh, I can't really think of a bad thing to say. Wallace has far exceeded my expectations and Macca continues to show promise. Jury is still out on Norman.

Oh, I also propose that Dale Copley be nicknamed Fail Copley.

Don't want to pick on the kid, but it's quite amazing how many puns (well three off the top of my head) his name can made into:

Fail Copley
Dale Dropley
Dale Costley

I am always yelling "WHERE IS THE SUPPORT?" haha.

Maybe focusing on attack comes after Origin in the lead up to finals.
