The NBA is locking out its players until a new collective bargaining agreement can be reached, the second pro sports league shut down by labor strife.

The lockout will commence at 12:01 EDT on Friday, after the expiration of the current deal that owners say has cost them millions of dollars a year.

I don't think this wil last too long. The NBA want to cash in on the renewed interest from last year now that the three gay boys teamed up in Miami to attempt to create a 'Superteam' so I'd be surprised if this lasted much past the original planned start to the season in October

Anyone seen any news on the lock out? the normal facebook pages have not said a word about them since they announced it.

Apparently the situation is much worse than I first thought, and will make the current NFL lockout look like a walk in the park by comparison. There's a good chance that the entire next season could be written off which would just be a tragedy.
