BASKETBALL NBA

My team got eliminated yesterday (Denver Nuggets). Bunch of pea hearts.

It is much worse when you are heavily invested because of high expectations. Thought they were one of the best teams going into the playoffs and they shit the bed in the first round. Sickening.

Only caught the last quarter of game 1 between Spurs and Thunder. Wembenyama had a monster performance, he's really not far off being the best player in the world, if he isn't already. If he keeps improving and has luck with injuries and longevity, he could possibly finish top 10 or even top 5 all time, his defence is unreal and his attack just keeps improving too.

He just went stuff it, get on my back boys and made Holmgren looks second rate. Holmgren is also a gun.

But OKC were rusty after not having played in a while due to finishing their last series early, I expect them to bounce back strong.

He really just seems to hate Holmgren, its kind of funny.
I thought they are a difficult match up for OKC, they've got some big fast guards on the perimeter and Wemby just makes the OKC midrange game that much more difficult. Of course SGA can still make any midrange shot he wants most of the time and they did a good job of pulling Wemby out of the paint at times. It'll be good if this series goes to 7.
I'm really enjoying Wemby, I'm hoping the Spurs win.

They should benefit as well by getting Fox back because that will make OKC find it more difficult to shut down Wemby.

If the Spurs win this year it is ****ing over for the next decade. They are all young. Have a surplus of draft picks to keep adding and Harper looks like he is the next big time young guard. He is a rookie and doing this shit. Wemby is just a monster. He is literally scaring guys from going into the paint. It is wild. Never seen a presence like him. Throw in castle aswell. It is scary hours.

Going to take a special team to beat them going forward and they still might win it now.

That's what they all said about OKC and now they have a challenger. These two should be great duking it out over the next few years but I also like what Portland is doing. Atlanta too but they are missing a real superstar.

But man, did you see Wemby's clutch 3 late in the 4th? It was from almost halfway. Insane talent.

OKC don't have a guy like this that is this young and is closer to 8 foot tall than 7. And their main guys are all on rookie deals for a while yet. OKC do it more with depth. Spurs have a shitload of money tied up in Fox and Barnes who they won even need going forward. If Wemby stays healthy for the next 10 years they are going to win a heap of titles. Thats a big if though. Guys this talk arent meant to run around like this.

Ironically Wemby having that blood clot scare last year might have been the best thing for them from a team building standpoint. Falling in the draft and getting the 2nd pick. Might have got his Kobe. Rookies don't do what Harper is doing in the playoffs. He is special. Will be interesting what they do if Fox is ready to go game 2. Im not sure Fox is much better at this stage. What a luxury though.

They said that about Celtics and the Nuggets going on to have mini-dynasties too. Injuries happen, and Spurs wont be able to keep Harper, Castle and Wembenyama together long term, same as with OKC and SGA, Williams and Holmgren. Not without destroying the rest of their depth.

Plus the three player super teams don't really work anymore. The new salary cap rules don't really allow it.

Oof that might be hard for Cleveland to come back from. 20 points up in the fourth only to go on to lose by over 10 in first OT. They just completely fell apart and all of Harden's issues over his career came out, just gave up on so many crucial plays. When the Knicks flicked the switch, the Cavs couldn't go with them at all.

This game is hot! Wemby a clear flagrant fould missed. Now Kornet tunnelling. SAS have come to play football.

Impressive comeback by the Knicks in that second quarter. This is really mirroring games 1 and 2. The Spurs really struggle with the Knicks movement and as soon as they start missing a few, the Knicks just start overwhelming them. Crazy to watch 4 on 1 on Wembanyama but he is just that good. For the Knicks though, Arunoby and Towns are big enough and skillful enough to give him problems and hurt the Spurs the other way too. The Spurs need to find another big to help Wemby out. Harper looks like he could be it but for all his amazing performance this season, he is still a rookie. This looks the Knicks year but it definitely isn't over yet.

Feels like Knicks just hang with and then overwhelm them towards the back end. Maybe a bit of maturity with the likes of KAT.

Yeah I think you are right. The Spurs are going to be a super team if they can keep this squad together but it just feels a bit too early. Of course, the series is by no means done yet.

No way, they just gave a flagrant foul against Brunson but he didn't get one from a much worse foul by Castle? This ref is going to need some bodyguards to get out of NY tonight. Both calls absolutely ridiculous.

Well done Spurs, that second half defense gives them a blueprint moving forward.
