Ya jokin. Ill never be allowed back if I give my comparison.
Why not?
I'm sure no one is going to ban you for giving your opinion on a footy subject, as long as you don't start your tiresome tirades bagging everything Queensland, or turning it into a NSW wank...

Why is being named an immortal such a big deal? Isn't it just a list that some magazine came out with? And judged on by Ray Hadley no less.

This. Whatever prestige it had is long gone

I think it will be Johns but f@3cked if I know how. He's done nothing of significance off the field and he was under the influence of drugs on it. Even he admitted he probably couldn't have played without the drugs.

It would be great to see Meninga get named. He achieved everything except one thing. He never captained QLD to a series win.

Johns doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as other immortals after his drug problems and the Tahu incident.

Selecting Johns over Meninga will tarnish the Immortals brand forever.

If you think Johns wasn't a freakish player you need to get checked. Also the drugs he used were estacy not steriods. When it comes to his off field problems I say **** that let's admire the brilliance we saw.

It doesn't really matter what any of the nominees did 'off' the field anyway......

... all that matters is their performances on the field.

This. As much as I don't think the criteria is just, the fact is the criteria does say on field deeds only. However, it does have something about the legacy they've left behind, which to me invariably includes off field status and post-career behaviour/deeds.

The whole thing is subjective.

If the judges choose to ignore off field issues and focus purely on the ability and achievements on the field, then I don't think anyone could have any qualms with Johns being named.

I particularly liked it when he abused the refs. A career highlight.

I really am amazed his drug problem was sweeped under the carpet like it was. Clearly a major violation of the rules yet everyone was just so amazed at how brave he was and all the pot smoking socialists had a new hero.

Johns will get it because of his title. World's most overrated player in the history of Rugby League.

Yeah, he was friggin awesome on the field, but it's nothing to what he's hyped up to be. Fat assed little drug **** turn victim thanks to Channel 9.
