It's a shame injuries got the better of him. It wasn't too long ago where the thought of him playing for Australia wasn't ridiculous. Gave his all for the club and always seemed like a nice guy - all the best Nick.
He was going good early 2009 too until he did his knee, I think it was in Melbourne (I was at the game, and I think that's when it happenned? we got shellacked) and he never really recovered.
2009 was his stand out season. It's when he became our starting front row and was outplaying players worth twice as much and forced his way into the Four Nations squad. I think he suffered an injury against the Roosters in 2010 and he was never the same after that. I try to forget about 2010 though so I could be wrong...
I disagree BP. I think 2008 was definately his peak, he was outstanding for us particularly in the second half of the season. Was touted as an Origin player in 2009 on the back of that season. His 2009 season I thought he started really well, then injury hit and he was fairly inconsistent when he got back (but really good at the good times).
Liked him as a player ever since I saw him debut against the Sharks. I really thought he'd grow into a long term forward leader at the club, especially during the period when we struggled up front. Wasn't to be though but he seems to have set himself up for a good life post-footy.
Looks like I might have to change my sig as well..
