I see in the Scurrilous Mail today that Nick Kenny has won the NRL One Community Good Guy of the Month Award. There was also a really nice story in the RLW about this week as well. He seems to be such a champion good bloke who is doing a lot to redeem the image of the Broncos and footballers in general. I hope he gets a spot in the Qld side even on the bench to reward him for all the work he has put in both on and off the field.

petro who? Kenny i hope stays at brisbane and becomes the nice guy of league

Good on ya Kenny, Keep up the good work champion, sad that stories like this get hardly any coverage, yet some fight in a crowd of 20,000 gets 3+ days of main/backpage coverage.

But i guess the amount of replies in this thead sort of prove, that people don't care about the good news and would much rather read about the bad news so I guess you can't really blame the media for being so negative because the positive stories don't get much ratings.

Spwn ever consider most people are still not home from the game yet thus the lack of comments.

Nick seems like a top bloke and even better player at the moment. will be a big chance for SOO1 to be groomed for the 2 old fellows roles (Pricey and Pet)

Also I think people aren't replying because this isn't exactly news. Everyone already knows Kenny's a legend icon_thumbs_u

I have absolutely loved the Broncos for their hard but good men they have had over the years.

Lazzo, Gee, Hancock, Thorn, Carroll, Webcke, Petero, etc etc

Thankyou Nick Kenny for continuing this pride & being a good guy of the game we love so much.

You forgot Carl Webb and Dane Carlaw

possibly a future broncos captain?

Either he or Wallace would be my pick right now. As natural leaders Hunt and Thaiday are at the same sort of level but I don't want anyone involved in toilet-gate rewarded with the captaincy.

I would generally say the same thing about Hunt/Thaiday Gymp HOWEVER I do believe they deserve a second chance if they can prove they are genuinely contrite and do all the right things to once again deserve the captaincy. From what I have seen and know Thaiday seems to be making a genuine effort to make ammends for his part in the incident and I think if he continues the way he has been going I would have no problem giving him the captaincy in the futuer. Hunt I am not sure he has taken appropriate steps towards earning the captaincy as yet - but he still could. Then again by all reports it's the captaincy of a French or Japanese union team that he's aiming for now.

I agree, I love the way Thaiday has gone about the incident since it happened. Like Kenny seems to go out of his way to help people out particularly kids, signed a new deal and seems to be giving it 110% out there. He might change my mind but I am really disappointed with that whole incident, at the moment I would have him 3rd on my preference list a fair distance behind Wallace and Kenny.

Thaiday will be Captain once Lockyer retires.. Hunt will leave and I love Wallace but I would prefer a Broncos Junior to Captain the club.

Agree Gymp, I'd have no problems with Kenny or Wallace as captains, just don't want to write Thaiday off either.

Wallace has the perfect mentality to lead a team, he is a talker and leader by example both in attack and defense (his defense is probably unmatched by any other 7 in the game right now). Wouldn't worry me having a Blue and/or non junior captain the club if they have a genuine love for the place and do the right things on and off the field.

Shame Locky hasn't got a few more years left in him to groom Alex Glenn for the captaincy - the kid has great leadership skills and will hopefully be a Bronco for life

Kenny has kicked it up three gears in the last 16 months and I couldn't be happier. Always been a champion bloke off the field.

Honestly, I think we're blessed for prospective captains to replace Locky. Even if Hunt leaves and isn't in the mix, there's the likes of Parker, Thaiday, Wallace and Kenny who I believe are the standouts now, with plenty of good fellas coming through too (the likes of McCullough and Glenn).
