NRL 2022 Grand Final Discussion

Panthers cup team is full of next gen. This is a golden era for them.

They dont have players though of their ability. They will have to change how they do things slightly and it will remain to be seen if that will leave them as effective. There will also be a time when they dont get every call under the sun from the refs.

Liam Martin has gone from average to superstar super quick

Almost as sus as when Gallen “suddenly” played 80 mins as a prop despite having a 55 min average prior
Yeah their whole team just have endless energy too. I know it's easier when you have all the possession and field position but FMD, their strength and energy just looks almost superhuman. Sus AF IMO.

A draft would.
It doesn't though.

The top draft picks go to the shit teams, they spend 2 or 3 years getting them fit and matured into first grade players before they bugger off to a top 4 team for unders because they want to win a premiership.

This game is the perfect example why I don't watch very much rugby league outside of Broncos games.

because it just depresses me.

Imagine how much easier it would be to defend if we were allowed to lay all over players in the ruck (or make 2nd/3rd efforts)

Imagine how much damage the likes of Mam, Staggs, Herbie, Cobbo or even Haas could do if the defensive line had to be back 12m instead of the 10m.

Far out Penrith are good. The Eels didn't do much wrong there, they completed at 86% lmao, but the Panthers won the arm wrestle then started to blow them away.

how do the AFL do it to stop that happening

The Conspiracy Train is struggling right now. This isn't how it was supposed to end. It's not over yet, but it's going to take a complete reversal of the ref's favour. The last 5 mins showed a glimmer, the Panthers were actually getting penalised for the things they have been doing all game (all year?). The Eels had one solitary shot at their line but came away empty, if they are given a couple of opportunities though who knows.

You made a miscalculation. It never mattered who joined the Panthers. They’re the actual West Sydney team. Parramatta is just west of Olympic park, Penrith is West Sydney.
