NRL 2026 Round 5 Discussion

It absolutely ****ing does matter what I said specifically. You dont get to put your own spin on what I said.

I never said they "had a decent player coming through". Yet again you making up shit. You do know there is posts from 2 hours ago that can be re-read. They don't just disappear into the universe. Go back and have a read of the whole conversatio and then come back with what I actually said because you are continuing to just lie.

On the 9 situation JMK is their normal dummy half. He isnt coming through. He is established and is very good. His problem is he is not healthy right now.

If they had him their spine would be much better but it still doesnt negate the fact that for the most part of the year..... so far the current spine has been dogshit. That doesnt mean tonight said spine was the reason they lost. I acknowledged it wasnt. It was simply saying at the time they have been dogshit. Its called a live thread. I comment on what I see.

You interpreted it to mean something it actually didn't. It was a live reaction in a live game thread to a period of play in which they actually had the ball and looked clunky and not on the same page.
Oh that's a relief, we're in a live thread. Pardon me I would have thought we were in a courtroom given how hung up you get on direct quotes. That's why it doesn't matter. People get so hung up on what they did or didn't say they miss the point.

The point was that this supposed #9 is 'decent'.

That's the bar and who are we kidding just about every starting NRL fullback clears it. The only one who is pushing it is Gutho and he's old.

Hammer is a quality player and right now the least of the Dolphins problems. There are other issues plaguing the club and he's one of the few positives they have going for them.

Fuller is no where near as co-ordinated or threatening as Tabuai-Fidow. At best it's a short term option when the coach is desperate. He's a poor man's version of Tabuai-Fidow if anything,

Fuller + Hammer is a better team IMO .
I was very surprised he wasn`t in the team to start the season .

Dunno about not as threatening . I don`t watch the Phins a lot , but I have seen him shred the Broncos defence more than once .

How is putting Hammer to centre and Fuller to fullback going to improve the fins defence.?
They're getting beaten down the middle and on the ground in the ruck.

On the Hammer thing, I dont think its only about whether people think he is great/average etc at fullback, its that he can be a very very good centre over Averillo who is not. Then, you have the added bonus of them having a really good fb option that is not getting any game time currently, that would if they moved Hammer.

All that said, when you have 30% of the ball and piss it away every time youve got it, nobody is doing anything worthwhile in the attack. I barely remember Katoa even touching the ball let alone setting anything up.

Trai's issue is that he overplays his hand. Maybe it's because he doesn't have the athleticism required but he'll often put himself in awkward positions or play for himself instead of doing what's best for the team.

He's a handy squad player and not without his positives. When Herbie went down and the Dolphins were desperate it was the right option to move him to fullback and shift Tabuai-Fidow to the centres. However as a long term option, I don't see the upside.

Exactly, fans need to watch the Dolphins and think about Penrith. Watch how the forwards are over-playing their hand and not doing the tough stuff. They're not creating space for the playmakers, they're losing contact and it's limiting the player's options.

Fullback is a bigger priority than centre and Averillo has been fine. If anything, it's Cobbo they need to reconsider.

Averillo is on his way back to Sydney, if you believe Dobbo.

Shout out to Jye Gray so far this year. Been critical of him last year and the decision to move Latrell to center but it has made them better so far

Reminds me of the possible dolphins situation....😃😃

Those two Souths cover defenders before..
