NRL Broncos in danger of missing top eight

Go easy on Harby. For a first contribution it was a good post and there's good discussion on it. Doesn't really matter that a similar topic is being discussed.

Welcome to the forums mate!

And FWIW I'm pretty sure we'll make the finals, but whether we're competitive or not depends entirely on the next month of football.

Yeah i gotta agree its a good first post and welcome man.

I only just worked out what FWIW means, so yeah just thought I would share that FWIW

Thanks for the 'warm' welcome guys :tongue_smilie:
On a serious note, its not looking good. On current form, Broncos will lose the next three weeks with a win vs. Penrith in rd. 26. As Parker said in the post match interview, hard work is required and personally I believe they'll get there with a wins over Melbourne and Penrith. I can't see them overcoming the Dogs at ANZ, and to a lesser extent, Manly at Brookie (although do-able). Would prefer the Broncs did make it, considering they provide exciting finals football.

Nice to have some opposition fans on board :)

well i just tried to do the ladder predictor on nrl.com and got this message:
"The hosting account for www.rugbyleague.com.au expired."

i hope its not a sign...

You guys should see the Manly fans when they get new members of their forum... its no wonder they're the most hated team in the NRL. Nonetheless, I don't like the confines of the Bulldogs Forum. I like to extend my tentacles and explore what other forums have to offer :) Glad to be here.

Welcome, but just make sure you keep your mouse in it's house...OK?......

As others have said, glad to have you. I love reading different opinions, and so long as we all treat eachother with respect and it doesn't degenerate into bickering and stuff, then anyone's welcome.

I'm not a Bulldogs fan by any means, and can't stand Hasler, but far out, you'd be a hard man to please not to love the way the Bulldogs are playing at the moment... but I just hope they go easy on us :(

Yeah please go easy on us. I actually really like hasler and like you say coxy there is a lot to like about the way the bulldogs play. Hasler is one of those guys where you either love him or you hate him but either way no one can deny he is a super coach. What he has done to the doggies this year is incredible, i mean about from a few mid season purchases he has taken a team of numpties (bar a few) and turned them into a premiership force which are just a joy to watch (bar this coming sunday :(

I'm not trying to have a go at Hook or anything but imagine what hasler could do with this current broncs side.

I see a similar philosophy with Hasler that Griffin has - he's all about getting the foundation of defence right, and then build on the attack. However, Hasler has shown far more ability to create effective attacking structures with his teams than Griffin. But again, one thing the Broncos really lack is an X factor attacking weapon who can score a 100m try. We used to have them - Lockyer at fullback, Sailor and Tuqiri, Tate.

Bulldogs have Ben Barba, Krisnan Inu and Josh Morris all capable of blowing you away with their own ability.

Broncos have.... ?? We have guys capable of busting tackles and making a break, but lack that killer explosive speed and agility of a Barba or Inu. Yow Yeh was as close as we had.

*sigh* I feel like Rick Springfield... "I want Dessie's team"...

I think what infuriates me most is that there are simple solutions there that arent being taken. I think hook is a great coach and his strengths lie in man management and defence, he appears to have little to know ability to create attacking structures that are effective in first grade... with this in mind why haven't they gone and gotten an assistant that can create attacking structures, I mean it's not like we are a poor club, im sure we can afford to buy another assistant

If we want to improve our chances of making the 8, everyone has to join hands and pray the Tigers lose tonight.

I already have my robbie farah voodoo doll getting punished... his knee should be feeling mighty sore right about now

Seems a moral, Eels have been enjoying their footy of late and the Tigers injuries are pretty staggering.
