I'm actually not too bothered by the way it's all happened. It seems like the NRL told Preston it was against the rules and asked him to remove it for the moment, but said they'd talk about it. Preston said "I am not going to wear it until they sort something out...", and then the NRL had a chat and decided it was ok. Seems like an alright process to me [icon_shru

When he plays for an Aboriginal team, by all means.
But while he's playing for the Titans, he's been given the rules. It's just a shame they have no been bent because people whinge at rules.
There would have been no uproar about this if it was someone wanting to wear an Aussie flag, and getting knocked back.

So next we have the Lebanese flag plastered on someone elses headgear then a Scottish one then...you get the drift...how stupid is that..wearing an aboriginal flag...who cares what his heritage is ??? is'nt that the point ?? it does'nt matter where you're from...so why does Presto need to shove it down our throats..like Mundine...just can't have a conversation without him mentioning aboriginality ffs...why can't they get over it ??
I don't hear Lockyer gushing on about his heritage nor WB or Ivan Henjak.....why is it still such a big deal..they got their apology....................................move on Aboriginal people please...we got it already ok ??
I've worked side by side with an Aboriginal bloke for the last 3 years.......and we've spoken about his heritage twice..both times because it was topical at the time due to media events...he does'nt see the need to bring it up on every occasion.................................................and he's never asked me about mine !!!!!!!!!
He earns the same as me (far too much for what we do lol ) and absolutely despises the welfare mentality and has no place in his heart for the blame game which most aboriginals seem to wallow in......have none of you thought of the accusation implicit in the 'need' to mention aboriginal issues at every turn ??
I'm proud of my heritage Scot?welsh?Irish?Pom combo.....should I wear a flag from them all......??do I really 'need' to ? and what about the rest of his heritage ..his other ancestors from a different race..like Mundine who has way more European ancestry than he has Aboriginal...why the denial of these connections ??
If aboriginals want to be treated fairly then act fairly...the rules are for all...the rules do not discriminate..ithey treat all equally

No one is saying he can't be a proud Aboriginal. They are saying, like every other player in the game, team colours or sponsors on headgear only.
This was only overturned because people made a stink. And parts of what Huge said I agree with too. Aboriginals tend to really push this point home about being the victims, and usually get what they want because society doesn't want to step on their toes.

If this had been a white Australian and I said "White Australian's tend to whinge", no big deal right? But because we're talking about anoter race, it all of a sudden becomes racist.
He shouldn't be allowed to wear the flag. It was in the rules, the only reason it was allowed because people whinged and put pressure on the NRL, and the soft NRL gave in.
