NRL = Clueless *aboriginal flag saga*

Yes there is a time and a place. But I can see what he was getting at, he just went the long way about it.

I'll wait for a few people on here to call me a bigot and a racist, and it will be like old times again.

Do you ( rissi_gurl ) not understand English as written ?? Where is any statement about welfare mentioned in my post ? aside of course from my assertion that my workmate rejects the welfare mentality ?? please read and hopefully understand that I did not coin that phrase and it is in common usage. It was my only reference to welfare and was not the sole point made.....

How stupid to read the word 'welfare' and then make some weird connection...can you not understand such a simple statement without making some irrational leap to racist and rant.....????Try reading and thinking instead of making infantile, facile and juvenile responses...it's probably why no adult would engage you in reasoned debate...you're just not capable of it.

I take offence at being labeled racist as well, why did'nt you accuse me of kid touching as well ?? it would be equally ludicrous....I certainly did not denigrate Aboriginal people.....just the elements that hurts their cause. You know the big one don't you...it's where they want equality...but want to be treated differently !!!!!

After re-reading your post I noticed you even got it wrong about the number of times my workmate and I have spoken....we've only discussed aboriginal issues twice but have spoken thousands of times...we enjoy each others company and doubtless he'd find your junk responses as stupid as I do....checkout the term 'kneejerk response'...you'll see a photo next to it...it'll be like looking in a mirror.

He earns the same as me (far too much for what we do lol ) and absolutely despises the welfare mentality and has no place in his heart for the blame game which most aboriginals seem to wallow in......have none of you thought of the accusation implicit in the 'need' to mention aboriginal issues at every turn ??

hmmmm...sounds like a racist sterotype to me, i dont care what your "workmate" thinks, you wrote it so if your offendend that I think your an idiot, then maybe you should think first... and i didnt say your a racist, people like you are ignorant

and oh you might want to look up the meaning of denigrate too

That bolded comment isn't racist. It's a true fact, and anyone Aboriginal or non Aboriginal who wants to say it isn't true, needs to get their head out of the sand.

A lot of older Aboriginal people do still feel hard done by, and do whinge, and moan about it a lot, and IMO, they have nothing to whinge about.

Like what was said above. They want to be equal, yet they want more for their race.

That isn't racist, it's known fact.

For the record. I've worked with Aboriginals, and every Aboriginal I know is quite happy to joke around with me about the past, they simply don't care. But there are plenty that will just go on, and on about it.

its not a fact... you just dont know what your talking about

What an awesome response. Get your head out of the sand an wakeup to yourself.

A one line reply'...typical air head response. Unlike you I have little need to look up the meaning of the words I use... a fact well known on this forum. Most readers of my posts over the preceding 4 years would , I'm sure, realize I'm well capable of expressing my thoughts clearly and succinctly. Having lived for three times as long as you I'm able to draw on experience, something you have very little of.

Childlike and simplistic would be my description of your feeble offerings. Child, please try and understand I'm 'dumbing down' my words so your manifestly inadequate mind can comprehend.

I enjoy the company of intelligent and articulate friends, one of whom is at the very heart of the Aboriginal issue ,at least here in Queensland. He is responsible for the defence of aboriginals accused of the worst of crimes.Funnily enough he believes I am able to see the greater issues, that I have a great understanding and accurately describe the situations they find themselves faced with. He's highly trained and vastly experienced and unlike you is at the very coalface. I think I'll take his view over yours.

Take heed child, remain silent until you formulate a real and valid view ........and that takes time.

I will thankyou for one thing though...I re-read my earlier post and did make one error...I used the word 'most'' when ''some'' would have been more accurate. Most aboriginals are moving on....it's just that they can be influenced by the incessant carping, whinging and whining of the more strident and vocal. That does their ''cause' no good. It alienates those who would otherwise support them.

I dont need to write ten lines of dribble to get my point across!
How would you know what most, any or all of the aboriginal population are doing? Oh wait do you have another "friend"... your full of it!
And just because your older than me dosent mean you are more intelligent or make the dibble that comes out of your mouth more valid... all you do is make blanket statements with nothing to back them up.... except your "friends" of course!
I may be 22 years old but at least i know what im talking about

I'm judging by the way you speak that you're an Aboriginal. If I'm wrong, I fail to see how you know any better.

Even if you are, how do you know any better? I can hardly make statements like you're msking about all of the White Australian population.

Stereotypes exist for a reason, and whether you accept it or not is a whole other argument.

Child....I made no statements about intelligence prior to your first post in response to mine. In fact it only took ten words before you called me stupid. That illustrates the level you operate at and is a fairly clear indication of your own intelligence. I made no blanket statements rather I aired my views based on experience with the wider community.

I don't waste words unnecessarily, ten lines of dribble as you wrote. Child, I am smarter and wiser not because I'm older but rather because I was born that way. You are in a battle of wits but sadly are unarmed. You, because you lack the basic capabilities and skills simply use your only real weapons...ignorance and anger.

In the manner your accustomed to...you started it !!...Perhaps you could have used a different approach...say something like this....

Huge...I disagree strongly with you and here are my reasons why.....etc etc etc...

Forget the name calling and try to write something worth reading. Name calling is so child like.

Yet you keep referring to her as "child" and not in a nice way.

I think you are both getting your ambitions and capabilities mixed up and well 'because I said so' you can both stop it now and move on.

Sweet...mind you, it's worth noting that I only used the term in response to the other posters abuse...perhaps it would be better to go to the source of the problem rather than the results it generated. I only seek reasoned debate..it's actually quite good for a person. I take the implied warning on board.

Im part aboriginal....my mother is 3rd generation from england, I also work voluntarily as a community consultant, we cover alot of different communities throughout austraila including NT, QLD and NSW.
And i can tell you that there problems are not similar... so how people go about painting all Aboriginals with the same brush does annoy me
