NRL.com has possibly the worst dreamteam competition there is. 4 points for a try, but 1 point per tackle. The teams end up just being tackle machines. You cant win with try scorers. Couriermail.com.au has a far superior system. It uses the same competition but has better scoring, 15 points per try, 1 point per tackle etc. So a back can actually be useful! Having said that i may sign up a team of tacklers for this comp just for something to do

Blech...and let me guess, they're both just "pick your team and come back at the end of the season and see how many points you've got", right? No head to head contests? No tactics?

Booooooooooooooring.

They do play head to head but it's still pretty much pick and forget.

I dunno about the rest of these chumps, but im on my dreamteam page a few hours a week, planning for players missing during origin, injuries and just updating my team. Theres a public league, so each week u play someone head to head. Im surprised you're not in on it coxy, its great. Adds so much to each game, as you cheer on your players. Helps that I am super competitive and have a $50 bet riding on it each year with midge. Hell, last year i had my trades planned out 8 weeks in advanced leading up to origin lol.

Theres also tactics such as getting players on the cheap that you know / hope will get lots of 1st grade and thus rise in value, so then u can trade them and get some more money to upgrade another position.

Yeah, whole fantasy thing is a bit bitter in the mouth given what happened with Virtual NRL and the way the wanker stats company tried to steal it off me etc.

LOL, not really. I just refuse to support any of the fantasy leagues said stats company supports...which is all of them :P

How does this work exactly?

I have Slater and Lockyer too.

In the Toyota NRL Dream Team competition, all players are available to all participants. It's an all-in competition, where all participants are ranked against everyone else, based on their skilful selection of the best 25 players that can be afforded by the salary cap for Season 2010.

Lol lame. Bring back VNRL.
