In the Toyota NRL Dream Team competition, all players are available to all participants. It's an all-in competition, where all participants are ranked against everyone else, based on their skilful selection of the best 25 players that can be afforded by the salary cap for Season 2010.

Lol lame. Bring back VNRL.

Exactly. I can't believe any one can sit there and say that any VRL game that allows players to be available to all partipants, is a good virtual game. Tactics and skill is extremely limited. If you're shit, all you need to do is pick the same players as someone else! LOLZ. Lame. 15 points for a try? LOLZ why? What's wrong with 4? It's such an unrealistic concept, it doesn't make it fun.

Hence why our manually run BHQ comp kicks arse because it represents the good old VNRL.

4 points a try... when a tackle is worth 1 point? Hindmarsh will make like 50 points a game not even including 2 for each hitup, so if a back gets 1 try and 5 tackles he only makes 9 points lol. Need to reward tries.

How does scoring in VNRL work

It'd be like VNRL has always worked - "forward tries" which are a combination of tackles, hit ups, missed tackles etc.

ahh yeah, nah i dont like that. couriermail has a good system. every position can earn points evenly

i have a shitload of fun, so obviously it takes no fun out of it. tbh, the way ur describing a forward try sounds even less entertaining. how can u watch a game and have any idea of how many points ur team is on, if u have to calculate a forward try based on tackles etc

think i need to add Stagg to my teams somewhere.

its pretty easy for the couriermail one. everything they use are stats on nrl.com and on fox while watching it, so its pretty easy to do some quick math!

15 points for a try is ridiculous. It truly is 'fantasy' rugby league.

Both Nrl.com and Couriermail/Daily Telegraph fantasy competitions have live scoring modules where at any point from 7:30pm Friday night to 9pm Monday night you can view the live points your players are on in any given match, plus your weekly matchup against your opponent. They have also introduced mobile as well so you can check live fantasy scores anywhere (for example at the game you could check your fantasy team at half time with updated info!)

I must say though, VNRL was the absolute bomb, these competitions dont even compare to what that was - i only do it because its the closest thing to it. Coxy can it ever make a comeback? what was the go anyway why did it have to be shut down?

Seriously, who would think to check the score in their Fantasy League game while at the footy?

I do it at halftime...but only because I have to update my scores manually. [icon_lol1.

I do it because i must beat midge and know about it :D

Our comp is closer to VNRL. In fact, it's practically the same the only thing we don't have is a salary cap with player prices etc. (Simply because it's too hard to do manually).

Coxy won't ever make it come back, despite how many times I tell him to get people to pay $5 for entry which would solve a lot of his problems.....[icon_wink

Unfortunately it would create additional problems...because if and when there's a **** up with the game, because those people have paid $5 they will be harassing me constantly to get things fixed.

At least if it's free I can say "you get what you paid for" :P

I've joined the Foxsports and the Daily Tele/Courier Mail comps. Should be good, but I'm totally rubbish at this!

Joined Foxsports, but I guarantee I forget about it as the year goes on.
