I think of all the premieres in recent years the sharks have the least chance of going back to back, the cowboys and a massive chance last year especially given they fielded the exact same side much of the year.

I also think since siginig sims adding some deapth to our team the broncos 2017 chances would have gone up.

Still think we took all the gas out of the Cowboys in the finals last year.

Yeah the result probably would have been the same had we of won and played the sharks, highlights the importance of making the top four and having a chance of a week off!

What do you think are the chances of Marcelo Montoya being a regular this year?

Apparently he is really impressing Hasler and is pushing hard for a spot on the wing.

Canberra Raiders
1. Jack Wighton 2. Edrick Lee 3. Nick Cotric 4. Joey Leilua 5. Jordan Rapana 6. Blake Austin 7. Aidan Sezer 8. Junior Paulo 9. Josh Hodgson 10. Shannon Boyd 11. Elliott Whitehead 12. Josh Papalii (unless he was suspended?) 13. Sia Siolola

Junior Paulo won't be playing Round 1. He was suspended for that game after an off-field incident that happened last year.

Pretty decent, especially if Morris fails to get over his recent run with injury.

That wing spot is wide open and it's just a matter of when for Montoya.

No Whare / Watene-Zelezniak for the Panthers @Big Pete? It's going to get even more complicated once Mansour is back, they'll have 7 or 8 good first grade outside backs.

Edit: Oh, this is just for Round 1.. In that case you should switch out Valentine Holmes, he won't be there Round 1.

Edit 2: You don't think Slater is going to be playing this year?

Full strength Panthers -

1. Moylan (c)
2. Mansour
3. Hiku
4. Blake
5. Watene-Zelezniak
6. Martin
7. Cleary
8. Tamou
9. Wallace
10. Campbell-Gillard
11. Cartwright
12. Yeo
13. Merrin

14. Peachey
15. Fisher-Harris
16. Latu
17. McKendry

That's a ridiculously talented team, couldn't even find room for Whare or Rein, they just haven't been able to stay healthy in recent years. If they have a full roster heading in to September they're going to be extremely tough to beat.

@Big Pete - you forgot Paul Vaughan in the dragons side

That's the fun of naming a side off the top of your head while trying to anticipate bad selections.

Obviously Vaughan will be there, I could be giving McGregor too much credit by having him develop both Host and Leilua at the same time though. Wouldn't be surprised if Matthews, Marketo or Havili take up a spot just cause.

With our team, do you think Wayne will go with 4 forwards. Kodi is back this week in the trials and benji will be fit by rnd 1 aswell. I think he will slot a utility onto the team somewhere.

That's pretty good off the top of your head Pete! It's hard to keep track of all of the smaller player movements and youngsters that come out of no where and take a spot in top 17s. I think you may have forgotten Zeb Taia at the tits and Matagi for the Eels. I think Arthur was pushing hard for an 80 minute 9 for them - Matagi is the go! Kurt Mann is an interesting choice for centre, there has been a lot of hype over this kid being versatile to play anywhere across the backline but I think Milne is the better option - Mary could go either way though.

Separately, I have an inkling that Curtis Scott might surpass Blair for that left centre spot, maybe not in the first few rounds but sometime this season. Perhaps during origin is his best shot. In saying that, Blair is a rock for the Storm.

Unlikely to be at the Titans for much longer.

Reports that a swap deal for Greenwood from the UK is done and it's just a matter of waiting for it to be announced.

Why don't the Broncos sign Taia

Sorry thought he was about 29
