I heard about walker before you mentioned him on here, just like a lot of people did. We didn't see him play but he has been talked about for YEARS.

The old I never saw him, never wrote anything never said anything but I just knew from Under 6’s he was special.

You and everyone else didn't know who Sam was until the Roosters signed him from IGS. Sam wasn't talked about at all- bar me- before Ikin tipped Kent on 360.

I was posting articles about him before Ikin even mentioned him, long before he even signed with the Roosters. He was discussed on here quite a few times in discussions about future players.

You're not the only one on here that knows and takes an interest in the youngsters.

Sam had barely arrived on the scene when he signed with the Roosters. All the talk was centered on Dearden with both Paix and T. Boyd as the other stand-outs coming through. He wasn't widely known until he started tearing teams apart in MM Cup and then he really announced himself with his performance in the U/18 Origin game. It was at that point it appeared the Broncos may have settled on their future long term half a little early.

Even so, I don't think casual fans even became aware of him until he signed with the Roosters and the media went into a frenzy.

The above may well be true for the casual fan. However, this a Broncos fan forum, most if not all are not just casual fans. Walker was definetly talked about on here before he signed with the roosters and there are even articles about him in the public domain in 2017/18.

This all stems from 1910 arguing that the roosters bought him before anyone knew about him, what more could they have done. Who even cares if we knew about them, the point is every NRL club was chasing him and the roosters got him AGAIN. How? Where's all the extra money coming from to win the battle for the most prized juniors over and over again? And to say that the roosters didnt and aren't just cherry picking juniors when they want is fanciful. Walker will potentially be playing NRL this year, and suuali too. They've been in systems and on NRL radars since they were PROBABLY (highlighted for 1910s benefit the word probably) 13 or 14 years old...

Exactly, didn't play CC, didn't play Queensland U16, so the media for Norths Tigers and IGS must be massive. All these pages written on the Tigers! They must have sold some hot chips that Saturday morning 50,000 was at their games.

I've spoken about why the Roosters got him a couple of times. Had nothing to do with money. The offers were all similar- Roosters won over Ben and Kylie.

It really is incredible how becoming a Sydney Rooster so rapidly improves your results and success on the Golf course. This isn't even a well kept secret, plenty of players down in Sydney on a Saturday night are happy to talk about it when they're out on the drinks and/or any other substances they might be partaking in.

Uncle Nick really should try signing a Top 30 contract himself just to see if he can't finally jag a win out on the green one of these days.

He was excellent before he went down there. Ben plays every day and then he went down there and had 12 months of doing nothing else but golf last year.

He was a good cricketer too, so they are normally good golfers. Boarder as well- what else is there to do than hit balls on the oval.

He was a good cricketer too, so they are normally good golfers. Boarder as well- what else is there to do than hit balls on the oval.

Doesn't really matter how good the Roosters players are at golf, it is more to do with how bad Uncle Nick is at it.

I think no one cares yet because he hasn't played since September 2019. He's playing on Saturday against the Raiders and if he plays well it will attract attention.

Clubs would be waiting now to see how he handles playing against men. But the Roosters have the jump now, taken him down there, Parents love them, taken him to the UK, let him play golf all last year and train, got him through his first year away from home, he lost a lot of weight- which he's put back on.

It's going to take a lot to get him away because they made the effort.
