No idea if a sporting organisation is different , but it's standard practice for any professional organisation to write into its constitution a maximum term for the Chair of any Board. It is an attempt to keep things fresh, new ideas, etc. Usually there is a maximum term for anyone serving on the Board, not just the Chair.Fox Sports also reporting that Young was already scheduled to finish up as chairman as part of a “rotation cycle”
It may have happened in the past but I've never heard of any "professional" organisation that has a "rotation cycle" for chairman of the board.
