Kasiano has all of the skills to be a damaging ball playing forward. But he never had the determination or the fitness to reach his potential.

It appears Bellamy is changing that, but time will tell. He wouldn’t be the first failure at the Storm. Hopefully it works out because he can be a really good forward.

I have a feeling it won’t end well, though.

Thing is with Rose, he never wanted to be at Melbourne and his heart was never in it

The Mole: Sydney Roosters star Luke Keary breaks jaw at training
The Sydney Roosters have suffered a massive blow with star playmaker Luke Keary breaking his jaw at training today.

Keary took an accidental knock to the head while doing a drill with a big forward at contact training.

He will miss all the trials and could also miss several games of the new season.

The injury is a huge setback to the Roosters, who were eager to see Keary in action alongside big-name signing Cooper Cronk in the halves.

The break isn’t a big one - but bad enough to keep Keary out of the game for at least a month.

“It could have been a lot worse but he will still need to take his time coming back and not rush things,” a Roosters insider told WWOS.

Keary our for a month should allow the Roosters to apply for a salary cap exemption, meaning they can now sign Tom Brady on a 4 year deal.

If only this weren't true.

The Roosters have apparently hired cap auditor Ian Schubert to manage their sombrero.

Is the NRL this fucking stupid? How can they not see all the blatant corruption seeping out of the game? Then they wonder why so many fans are leaving the game.

He hasn't worked for the NRL since 2013.

When you're plotting revenge against your arch enemy but then he texts you, "We all good?"

On NRL 360 tonight, Kent said that he rang around a few clubs today after trying to find out whether Titans breached rules by talking to Cartwright before the last year of his contract.

He was sent a copy of the rules and, lo and behold, clubs are allowed to talk to players whenever they like. There is no such thing as the November 1st rule (other than actually signing a contract) and Rothfield was clueless about this as well. A few of us on here have been saying for a couple of years that this is the case.

These are two of the supposedly knowledgeable senior journalists of the game.

The 1st of November rule is not, and has never been about talking to the player, but registering a contract with the NRL, which cannot be done prior to a year before a player's existing contract ending.

Still, I bet you this will rear its head up again... it always does!

Lol.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/02/14/wests-tigers-name-five-co-captains-for-2018/

In an incredible twist to the fairytale homecoming that is Benji Marshall's return to the Wests Tigers, the veteran playmaker has been named as one of five co-captains selected by coach Ivan Cleary.

Cleary struggled to find the adequate terminology to describe how the shared leadership system would work, but essentially he will tinker with tradition as he looks to get the best out of a group of players now handed the task of setting a culture at a club looking for positive influence.

NRL.com can reveal Marshall is one of three off-season recruits who have done enough to convince Cleary they are worthy of the leadership role at the club, with former Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs five-eighth Josh Reynolds and ex-St George Illawarra Dragons prop Russell Packer among the five-man group.

Wests Tigers stalwart Chris Lawrence and Kiwi lock Elijah Taylor, the two candidates most assumed would battle it out for the sole skipper responsibility, are also part of the captaincy circle chosen by Cleary.

"I just think it's the right model for us right now," Cleary told NRL.com.

"When we started this pre-season it was pretty obvious straight away that there was no real pecking order. There was no set culture to adhere to. It was all new.

"That was what I wanted it to be like and that's just how it panned out. In the absence of leadership, we didn't have a captain so it was always going to be interesting to see where the leadership came from."

Oh my gosh, that's just trolling the NRL. Can you imagine, five people in the refs' faces...none of them as successful as Smith in getting their own way either.

So:

Step 1: Taylor stares at the ref.
Step 2: Marshall tries to 'bro' the ref up.
Step 3: Lawrence tries to use lawyer talk
Step 4: Reynolds stands behind and trips the ref
Step 5: Packer stomps on the ref now on the ground

Interesting model

So this pretty much confirms Benji is gonna be in the 17. Packer and Reynolds as captains is very interesting, never would have picked it.

Here are the key words to that article ... just what the NRL were looking for.

put your house on the Tigers for the premiership this year :porthozthinksthisishot:
