So this pretty much confirms Benji is gonna be in the 17. Packer and Reynolds as captains is very interesting, never would have picked it.
Cos there the guys to lead by example lol

Makes sense, last time packer kicked for two he only got one.Marshall: Ok guys we are going to take a vote on if we are going to take the tap or go for the 2 points.
Taylor: go for the two
Marshall: Go for the tap
Lawrence: No we are going for the two
Reynolds: What are you thinking? we are going for the tap and that is final.
Marshall: look its 50/50 and it's down to Packer to make the final vote.
Packer: I didn't sign up for this job!

It seems Griffin's head is on the chopping block.
There are reports that Gus gave him a massive spray at half time during their last trial. If he doesn't have a good start to the season, it seems he could be gone.
There should be a 5 min bin for captains that carry on like spoilt brats to the refs, and yes I'd love to see it used on Darius too. Would clean up the game quicksmart. I already feel sorry for the poor bastard that accidently injures his bad shoulder this year. Probably looking at a 12 game suspension and refs/nrl rubbing them out of premiership contention asap. Can't remember where I saw the article but Thurston has started early, calling for the refs to do more to protect the halves. Calling for a 5 min bin. Although that part could have just been in general, as opposed to the 10

Gould knew what he was getting in to when he signed Hook. I don't think Griffin is a fantastic coach but that was the point - if he was a superstar, or had any kind of ego, he wouldn't work as Gould's puppet. I suspect he's done everything that Gus has ever asked of him, but of course he'll be the fall guy when Gus' long-expired 5 year plan achieves zero success.
Agreed Gus knew exactly what he was getting, he is too reluctant to leave his role at channel 9 and afraid to actually get his hands dirty on a full time basis at the Panthers in fear it may shatter his ego and image in the game. By having someone like Griffin coach there, a yes man who will plod along doing what his asked but nothing outside of that and certainly not the vocal type who would stand up against Gould and the club, I doubt he would even put up much of a defence for his efforts there and just accept the verdict. As for Gould if Griffin gets axed and his involved, show some balls and step up to the role, you already left them in a mess during the mid 90's when they needed you the most.
Gus was hardly going to sign with Super League. He had no choice but to leave Panthers. Gould has been excellent administration at Panthers the club has completely turned around and their facilities and development under him has been excellent. He is full time at Panthers if he spent anymore time there he'd have to move in.
