Fifita took a blow to the throat during yesterday’s loss to Newcastle and was struggling to breathe after the match. He was taken out of the club’s dressing rooms and on to the field after the game, where he was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital. Hospital staff are hopeful of waking Fifita later this evening to determine the next course of action. He is expected to require surgery which will end his season and place his career in jeopardy.
