NRL Judiciary

I can't understand how whoever makes the charge can get it so wrong, that is his job afterall, to know the system and bring the correct charge. Whoever it is must feel like a dill with players getting off more often than not.

Blame Greg McCallum & his panel.

Bet they are all former video refs.

Mini has a worse punishment, playing for the Roosters.

I bet he wishes that, he was found guilty.

Thats not the problem tho. To me, the charge was right. Mini's actions were intentional. He went for a shot first, missed it and looked like a fool, got shitty and went back looking for dugan with the intent to hurt him. After the first hit, there HAD to be intent in the second.

The problem is, as coxy said, that if he gets off the "intent" charge, he gets off altogether. He should then be charged with a reckless or careless tackle as to not get off on a technicality.

I for one, have no idea how they deem mini's shot not as severe as inglis'. Inglis was going for a shoulder charge, but was just unlucky he got young in the head. Hes a tall guy and young is not. Mini however, went for a second go at dugan, and launched himself. Total joke

^^ Completely agree. The charge was correct. Letting him off entirely was not. At best he should have had it downgraded, but I'm still certain the charge itself was the right one.

Am I the only one who is filthy about the way Brett Stewart got away with yet another scummy moment? That elbow on Everingham was intentional and should at the very least have been referred to the Judiciary!

Thaiday got banned for tugging at the ref's shirt, which according to the rules is fair enough, but what really shits me to tears, is that the MRC refers that and just totally ignores the Stewart ****!

Stewart got charged didn't he? But with an early plea got off with just a points penalty.

Indeed.
I saw him on the team list and assumed he hadn't been charged, because I couldn't imagine that being graded so low. Mea culpa, it is the Judiciary after all! :001_rolleyes:

I know its been said many times over but if it had have been Hodges or thaiday it would've been a minimum 3 weeks. How can an intentional elbow to the head be not deemed reckless.

I've seen a number of players touch a ref since Thaiday's suspension, too, but I'm yet to see anything come of it...

Wasn't the rule "touch a ref, get suspended"?

I haven't seen any. To you have any video to show it?

No you're not !!!

More proof that Boz and Arko can still close ranks on the NRL and protect their own when they want to......

Ninja Brett should have got at least 2 weeks IMO

Truth is Stewart should have been given 6 weeks as a minimum. I remember Mark Geyer on Paul Hauff? Head high deliberate elbow gets virtually nothing in this case. Clearly the judiciary is corrupt.

Origin is approaching, so the Blues players have get out of jail free cards.

TBH, I haven't taken enough notice of the round or games to go back and find them, though I do remember at least 2. They were pretty innocuous stuff, pats on the shoulders and the like, but under the 'touch a ref = suspension", rules are rules - right? I'll keep better track of it from now on!

I've only seen the highlights of that Manly game, However I'm fine with Stewart not being suspended. I'd like for stuff like that to just have players sent from the game.

The team you commit the foul against needs to start getting the advantage instead of the team that plays them the week after.

I'd like them to be able to send guys off but replace them after 10 or 15 mins. They can operate with 1 less on the bench from that point.

I also believe that such infractions deserve a send off, but no way should that be the only punishment. That is not accidental, it's deliberate and aggressive contact with the head, and should have been graded way higher than a grade 1. I reckon because he didn't catch him full on, it should've been a grade 3 dangerous contact charge.

I reckon such a dog act warrants at least 4 games for a clean skin, while a recidivist like Stewart should get 8!
