Probably not a bad move for the Raiders or Tilse.

Sceptical about Aussie Jum, though Ricky did say he needs to get Rep players into the side....
 
The Roosters can afford to let him go.

Apparently they're in the midst of signing Omar Slaimankhel from Japanese Rugby who can be a decent stop-gap before Latrell Mitchell develops.
 
Folau and Hayne to Roosters, done deal!

Really interesting signing, before today i didn't even know he was off contract, just assumed he would be a long term player at the Roosters.

Hope he can kick on at the Warriors and help keep them relevant in NZ. They have been majorly disappointing this year.

I might be wrong but I think RTS' career would be better served at the roosters. Furgo to be shaped into a fb maybe?
 
Largely unconvinced this is a good signing. The Warriors have only had Tomkins play in 1 and a half games of football this year. They won the game he played in full, won the game he played half of but lost the half he didn't play in. Tomkins is vital to their structures and RTS doesn't strike as having the same level of playmaking prowess.

That said, watching him and SJ sure will be entertaining. Just don't know if the Warriors will be a better side because of it.
 
Dare I say, this seals the Tomkins signing as an average at best move?

Was terribly inconsistent in his first season without ever really reaching any great heights and in his second he's struggled to even make it onto the field.

The point Ari raises is fair and I believe the Warriors have missed him. However, it wasn't like those achievements across the 120 or so minutes is anything to write home about either. He played a key role in Canberra but the Raiders aren't much chop and they're closer to winning a spoon than they are a premiership while the Eels are as hot and cold as any side. Watching that game, I don't think Sam played an integral role and if anything it was the likes of Hoffman, Townsend & Leuluai taking advantage of the Eels vulnerable right edge.

I'm glad the Warriors ponied up the cash and we got to take a closer look at one of the ESL's finest but I don't think Tomkins will go down as one of the best imports or a star of the NRL.

I think so, like you i am glad that he made the move to the NRL and that a club had the risk factor high enough to take him on as I believe he made the Warriors even more interesting to watch.
I do not have the time to follow the English Super League so was really the only way i was going to see what the hype was about.

Being a fairly unlikeable type of chap, i don't think history will look fondly on his stint in the NRL.

I hope it doesn't put other English players off coming over. While i have cheered against them, i love having the likes of the Burgess clan, Graham and before that Gareth Ellis in the NRL.
 
Do the Warriors get their release fee back???
 
I'm actually pretty disappointed in Tomkins, I was expecting him at the very least to be a top 10 Fullback consistently

In other news, Tyrrell & T.Burgess re-signed with Soufs, dunno who Manly is going to sign for next season, there's not many good props left.
 
Tomkins hasn't been the player I expected but I still feel he suits the Warriors more than virtually any other player.

Speaking of Warriors, Fisiiahi is off contract. Just saying.

I'd be keen to sign the Fish, he's an elite winger when healthy (Key word being healthy, he seems to be constantly injured)
