How can there be an announcement, he does not come onto the market until November this year.
The only way there's an announcement is if the Storm agree to release Munster from his final year.

well Bennett says he knows how to handle TPJ (where have we heard that before)

and Parker reckons all he does is "ask questions and challenges people to be better"

I think Wayne does get these players, but he still cant stop them being stupid.

Next one likely to be Lodge or Milford?

If Milf is willing to come cheap I'd say he's next. Given the Dolphins are likley to go hard for Munster at 5/8 they dont really need to blow big money on Milford. Surely Wayne isn't stupid enough to make the same mistake he did with Brisbane and try play two running halves in Milf and Munster next to eachoter?

Or does he put Milf at Fullback ahead of Issako?

IF milf doesnt perform at the knight's this year Wayne may not be interested and it could be off to England for him.

It is a good question but do you want to pin your hopes to O'Sullivan as your only starting halfback option? Milf and O'Sullivan can then duke it out and hey, if Milf pulled his finger out and worked on his fitness, he obviously could still be a gun fullback again. That also leaves Walsh for us hehe

I would be waiting if I were WB to see how he comes back.

I'm pretty sure WB said a few years ago Milford is a 6, not a 1. Very unlikely he'd sign him to play fullback, more than likely he'd sign him to play 7.

From a Fox article today:

"Next season is where it will become a real balancing act with more than $2.5 million in talent off contract including NSW State of Origin winger Brian To’o, star centre Stephen Crichton, NSW Origin backrower Liam Martin, gun prop Spencer Leniu , emerging centre Izack Tago, backrower Scott Sorensen and winger Charlie Staines all free to talk with rival clubs from November 1."

What do people reckon is the 'market value' for those players? $2.5M seems awfully low for 7 players of that calibre, though obviously they wouldn't have been signed for their current value. It's just interesting to compare and contrast the above with what we're paying Kotoni, Haas, Flegs etc.

Stephen Crichton would be the only one of those on the massive deal currently, Liam Martin and Toó would be next, the other 3 would be on peanuts and wouldn't be getting a massive bump. That said, You'd almost expect to pay $2.5 for Crichton, Martin and Toó combined.

They will want to be paid and they have a premiership now. Could see some leaving for money.

You seriously think those 3 are worth over 800k each?

Dolphins have signed Sull O'Seanivan apparently ..

Dolphins had a full salary cap to spend and they land Sean O’Sullivan.

And people wonder why Bennett’s pulling power is questioned…

Brian To’o - important but could go to one of the other Sydney teams... you'd think $500k at least

Stephen Crichton - I think Panthers will be keen to re-sign and mold him into their future fullback... probs $450-$600k

Liam Martin - they're losing Kiks so he will be a priority signing... probs $450-$500k

Spencer Leniu - not all that important to the Panthers cause, but they may lose Leota in the future who is more valuable to them... maybe $350k

Izack Tago - very important to their cause and looks a gun... would be looking at a decent upgrade I'd say... maybe $350-$400k

Scott Sorensen - bargain basement deal... he'd be stoked to get $200-$250k

Charlie Staines - I think they'll be happy to lose with Taylon May there. Panthers had ambitions to make him the fullback, but that seems unlikely now.

I doubt he will be taking a pay cut. reports were that his current contract is around 650k a year

If you put your clear anti Bennett agenda aside, who do they get? Who's available? There is literally nobody available for 2023. What are they supposed to do with a limited Market? Anyone who has even the slightest clue about Rugby League can see they were sold down the river with the limited time they had to negotiate with players after their announcement.
