Haele had a good year for Easts. Very attacking hooker. He improved dramatically from 21-22.

Andrew Fifita has retired. he needs 7 different surgeries to continue

Fifita says:

“I have made the hard decision to announce my retirement from the NRL,” Fifita told Sharks Media on Tuesday morning.

“I am extremely grateful for all the milestones and memories I have made at the Sharks.

“I can retire knowing I’ve fulfilled everything I had dreamed of achieving.

“Thank you to the Cronulla Sharks and to all of the members and fans for sticking with me and celebrating all of the highs I have experienced in my career.”

That's a relief. Wouldn't want any Melbourne kids playing for the Storm.

put your money on Hook being the first coach sacked for 2023.

It's being reported that Dragons "powerbrokers" convinced both Tyrell Sloan and Jayden Sullivan to withdraw their release requests by telling them that 2023 will be hook's last year in charge.

I've never before heard of management telling players (especially rookies) something like that

Yeah mental if true

I mean, it has been obvious for some time that Hook is a dead man walking.

Why bother keeping him another year? They could've got Flanagan

The Knights have been trying to get Manly to release Garrick a year early. they wanted to play him at fullback, moving Ponga to the halves.

In response Manly have offered Garrick a 4 year deal, with the promise of moving him to centre so he can get his hands on the ball more (he reportedly has no intention of continuing to play on the wing)

Manly CEO Tony Mestrov says:

“The club sees Reuben as a real leader,” Mestrov told The Daily Telegraph.

“We have a very good group of players that can vie for the top four year on year and we want him to be a leader in this group moving forward.

“He is a quality human being and a professional. From a cultural point he is also a very important player.”

“We’ve offered him a strong four year deal which would match any offer the Knights give him,”

“He wants to play fullback and obviously with Tom at Manly he can’t do that.

“However our offer is with the intention of playing Garrick at centre. He will play in the centres. He played all his junior representative football at centre.

“He is also an amazing goal-kicker which adds to the need to keep him.”

That will be Hook's last tenure as an NRL head coach, you would think. Three different clubs and all three went nowhere under him. He owes Locky a massive debt for making him look competent in 2011.

Great at developing young talent clearly, but absolutely hopeless at everything else.

Might be time for manly to look at moving tom from fullback body dont seem upto it anymore

Clifford to Hull KR.

2018 when I watched him play ISC and Qld Under 20- he was outstanding. Honestly thought the Cows had somehow managed a seamless transition in the halves.

Yep Clifford is a strange one. He looked like he would be something and then he just never got there. I feel he made a massive mistake going to Newcastle though, that club is toxic and where players go now to kill their careers.

Newcastle are now apparently chasing Brooks again for some reason despite already having picked up Gamble and according to Zero Tackle, have their heart set on playing Ponga in the halves for some reason.

Adam O'Brien is an idiot.

Clifford had a lot of problems off the field. He's mental health has been a concern.

Going to England might be the best thing for him. Gives him a change of scenery and a fresh start.
