That seems to be a real theme in Rugby League, this idea that players can interchange between fullback and five-eighth. There's very few players who I've seen who can handle that transition - Lockyer, Munster, Inglis - and the last two have the Storm system in common. I've seen little to suggest Laurie would be nothing more than another Hoffman/Boyd type. At best he could do a 'job' but it's a stop-gap solution.Very good points but it is also interesting to see what this means for Laurie. The same article suggests Brooks is on his way out and Laurie will go to 6, this really sounds pretty pointless to me. I'm not sure Laurie is a 6 and even more so, just don't see him and Doueihi gelling at all in the halves.
I'd suggest Laurie will be a free agent and if a club like the Bulldogs, Dragons, Dolphins etc. get desperate for a fullback they'll offer him a deal.
Doueihi/Hastings seems like the obvious halves pairing.
