Still way to much for a player he doesn't go looking for the ball.

Fifita may not be getting the pay cut we all thought he'd get.

The Raiders are reportedly preparing an offer for Fifita of $2.7 Million over 3 years ($900k per year)

It is why it can’t be above board. The Storm have Tripp and his murky gambling of record ‘contributions’ to players and recently have still struggled to keep players. Yet the Roosters have players at their peak willing to take pay cuts in the most expensive city in Aus?
the most expensive part of the most expensive city to boot.

Corey Allan has been released from the final year of his contract with the Bulldogs.

funnily enough, he can probably get away with it for most of his 4 year ban.

without any contracts in place he wouldn't be subject to a testing regime from the NRL or ASADA.

Sanctioned athletes are still subject to testing while serving their suspension as they're still in the testing pool, so he most likely wouldn't get away with it.

From my understanding, he has been tested during his suspension so I don't buy he's been on the juice.

he has signed a one year deal with the Roosters

Lol so a guy that was on a massively inflated contract has been released from a club that has been spending nonstop and likely tight on cap space, to go to a club that had to sign their starting prop on a T&T deal due to cap pressure.... but is all above board.

Dogs have either taken a massive hit to wear a lot of his reported $500k salary (how would that help their salary cap?)... or rorters are playing dodgey on other deals (Lodge, Crichton, etc.) and actually can accommodate the $500k salary (unlikely)... or Allan walked away from what is likely to be his only high paying salary contract to take up a minimum contract with Uncle Nick.

I actually thought the Roosters thing was a joke but it isn't. Wow.

Well he's definitely a shot there, it isn't like that team has three international fullbacks in front of him.

But hey, the NRL believes fans are dumb and won't see how bad this looks but hey, maybe NRL fans are dumb.

This is truly a bad look for the code with Crichton signing a contract only to go back and sign a downgraded one instead, Lodge on a T&T deal despite being on like 900k just last year and finishing the year strong and now they just happen to have enough money to help out another club also with salary cap pressure by taking on some salary to appease that, I mean what other reason would the Dogs have to allow him to leave? If they are saving only 100k say, there is no point in that whatsoever.

Bring back the Super League because whatever this comp is, the salary cap only serves to handicap the have nots, how does that help?

Oh and also, Walker has signed an upgraded deal. So ummm...like...where did the Roosters get this sudden ease of salary cap pressure from? Atoni must have been on a fortune hey.

Lodge isn't on a train deal because of cap pressure, he has a deal lodged but it can't be approved until the new cap is known- he can't train uninsured, and a train deal is all he can do at the moment to have insurance.

Cooper Johns is doing the same thing.

He could always go to a different club where he can get paid...

Not being able to register a deal means they don't have enough cap space (cap pressure) .. unless the deal is something like 5% of the salary cap, which it won't be, but even if that was the case then rorters can just backpay once the salary cap is sorted.

The NRL has effectively accepted that Lodge's value is T&T by allowing it to be registered (as per their current rules)... if rorters can't afford him on the cap for his new deal then he shouldn't be getting paid until they can. And if that means he doesn't have insurance and can't train, then tough fucking luck... Last year Lodge went and played grade rugby because he didn't have a contract so he was fine not being paid then.

What is happening with Lodge is against the NRL's salary cap rules, so it's absolute bullshit that they're just providing leniencies and exclusions to allow it to happen... just like exclusions to allow Suaalii to play as a 17yr old, deferring suspensions "for the fans", possible changes to state of origin because of Radley, changing rules mid-year, random shifts in officiating (crackdowns), changing the draw mid-year, manipulating the draw/schedule every year based on what the broadcasters want, etc.

It's just one thing after another from this stupid fucking administration that is eroding any sort of integrity across the competition.

Bulldogs are picking up around 300K of the tab if you believe Rothfield.
