NRL Player Movements & Rumours

How have they still got money left.

Did Burton not get an upgrade or something

Dogs have spent such stupid money on stupid players, 12 months to cut two over-priced nuffies adrift and you can afford him.

What changes would I like to see?

A team under the cap for starters.
A team sorted by the thoroughbreds and Bruno (love him or not ) and Murdoch having a pineapple shoved up his arse would suit me.

Anyway. This’s the way it is now.

I still don't think he should have been punished at all but yes, this is the way it is now...except if you are a Bronco.

Did anyone actually read why he is allowed to?

International rules are different than the NRL rules. In the NRL, if you're banned in a late-season game, you can't use pre-season trials to serve that suspension and have to serve it during the following NRL season.

It's different when it comes to International games. It's not the NRL's call, it falls under IRL jurisdiction.

yet players have been allowed to serve their late season suspension during the world cup.

so if you can serve NRL suspensions during the world cup competition ... the the same should be done for suspensions earned during the world cup (they should be served during the NRL competition)

Yeah this. The rules are deliberately erratic, they don't mind being considered stupid or incompetent, it allows them to be blatantly corrupt.

Dylan Brown re-signs with Eels.

Potential 8 year deal despite the flashy headlines. Signed until 2025 with further options until 2031. So a 3 year deal that could be extended. Much like many other contracts.

Bennett misses another one, lol

I've never heard of a contract with 5 years of options (are they in the clubs or players favour)

Seems like in Brown's favour.

Brown’s extension was announced by the Eels on Monday morning, with an option in the 22-year-old’s favour to remain at Parramatta until 2031.

Anticipation Popcorn GIF

That is going to work out well!

That's an awful, awful, deal. WB might not be signing anyone but he sure is making clubs commit much more than they'd like.

DB is greatly overrated, 8 year deal, fucking hell.

Eels have signed some awful deals to keep players. The Matterson deal and now this one.

The Dolphins are missing out on a lot of players, but like you say, clubs are paying way over the odds to keep them away from the Phins.

Which means some players have to fall through the other end, you can delay the consequences for a year or two, but the cap pressure will catch up.
