****, it’s crazy to think that many current players will be still playing into the 2030’s. I’m feeling old already, can’t imagine what it’s like for you old farts on here.

It will be interesting to see how the NRL handle things if the new CBA doesn't get approved before the 2023 season starts. especially given the following reports:
- Dean Ritchie reporting that the Panthers have only officially signed 26 players for their top 30 ... they have a couple more they want to sign but can't because they have no cap space to move
- Lodge can't get his contract registered with the Roosters unless the cap increase comes into affect
- the Tigers want to make an offer to Nathan Brown, but can't do anything until the cap situation is sorted
- If Nathan Brown does head to the Tigers, then the Eels will make an offer to Marty Taupau ... both clubs and the players involved are currently stuck in limbo
Those player options the Eels have given Brown seem nuts... hope they have some strong protection in there otherwise they could be shooting themselves in the foot longer term, also that's setting a precedent for other players at their club.. very glad the Broncs had the intelligence to move away from them.
So there is more than just Lodge and it's not some Roosters pyramid scheme? If only someone had said that weeks ago.

Mitchell and Walker have re-signed with Souths which is surprising given we were led to believe that players had to sign on as train and trial because re-signings can’t be made.
John Bateman, Luke is the former Raider and current Seagull.
It's a quality signing that will see the Tigers tread in the right direction. They needed more hard nosed players and there's few better than Bateman. It turns what was a position of weakness into a strength.
I can see the Tigers 17 being a work in progress. There will be a few positions that the team will have to bite the bullet on and others they'll have to be patient with. A few changes I'd like to see to your 17...
2. Maumolo
4. Kepaoa
13. Talau
16. Ofahengaue
17. Pole
Ofahengaue could easily switch with Twal as well. I could also see a lot of rotation on the bench with Ngatikaura, Fione, Saukuru, Blore, Matamua etc. getting reps. Could also see some Sheenius as well with an outside back getting consistent game time on the bench ala Fitzhenry.
EDIT: Tigers fans are confident they're signing Nathan Brown so that's your 13 right there.
Talau was being transitioned into the lock forward role before doing his knee. I see him as a Halatau type who offered the same kind of versatility and in the modern game that mobile lock role is becoming more valuable. He was also a 6 coming through so that lends itself to being in the ruck.Have I missed something? Isn't Talau a centre?

I think it's moot anyways if the Tigers are going to go with Brown.
