we have Reynolds as our leader, if we grab an old head prop who's at the back end of his career and still playing well that would be a better buy then Finucane IMO

If we offload Lodge for 400k and have to pay the other 400k, and bring on Finucane for 300k, I think that's an upgrade.
Then.. there's a little more in the kitty than we started IMO

Yes Lodge is probably on too much. But he's better. One of our best the last month plus.

That would effectively be 700k for finucane
For a year though and would it be 400k for each of the years lodge has left with his player option years,if so that would be 700k for the next 3 years depending on how long finucane would be signed for.

No, we're already paying 800k for Lodge. Swapping him for a player from an actual club, and having 100k extra isn't the same as paying 800 for Finucane. You can also offer Finucane a 2year deal

We would have been better chasing Brown before he signed up again with the Eels. I'd personally like Liu from the Rorters.

AJ isn't really backing himself with that contract.
while 600k sounds like a big contract, an elite fullback (which AJ could very easily become) would push his value a lot higher

Yeah but you know the Titans, it probably is closer to a million but by saying it isn't, they can keep trying to sign everyone and anyone.

He has taken the security of 5 years vs. risk in taking a 2 year deal and possibly bumping up his worth to 7-800k per year for years 3,4 and 5. On the flip side he could have 2 years of Jack Bird type injuries and be replaced by the next up and comer and be offered 350k in year 3.
By the end of it he will be about 28 so if he is playing good enough footy can still get a decent payday on another ~3 year contract.
If he enjoys being at the Titans it's a good deal for him and 600k per annum is a pretty good deal for the Titans, well played both sides.
