NRL Players and family members in hot water

Guys we weren't there, ASADA obviously has more facts than us and Barba obviously had no idea what he was taking into his body. For all he knew, that white line was just some medicinal herbs he was told to sniff to take away post-season pain. So, let's give him a backdated suspension so he misses all the time until preseason training starts and can thus have a holiday to go and think about what he had no control over doing.

I knew it was a bad idea for him to go to Cronulla/NSW.

No way he was going to keep his nose clean in that den of rats and filth.

Should have stayed in QLD.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if the Roosters had a crack at him ....

I'm sure he was alone and there weren't any other Sharks players with him.

You don't need to go to rehab if you just do it once after you win the GF. Wonder how long this has been going on? Amazing it got picked up days after the season ended.

My thoughts exactly. "Going to rehab" is meaningless unless he is truly an addict and/or is struggling with dependency issues with drugs. Considering it was just after the GF win, I'd say he's just another douchebag who's got caught and is playing the victim card.

It's a second positive test.

Coke isn't that addictive either. Going to rehab is the standard publicist move any time drugs or alcohol are involved.

Ben Barba tested positive to cocaine
faces a 12 weeks suspension

Jeez Cronulla are a shit **** of a club .......

No doubt they would have known about Barba's use of the drug all year (Ben's had a pretty good 2016 season...didn't he) and swept it all under the rug as part of their "win at all costs" club mentality.

Well, if he is going to rehab then that gives the indication that there is an addiction/dependacy on the drug. Rehab is a last resort. Rehab is the option you take when nothing else you have tried to kick the addiction worked. It's the road you take when you have no other option..

So if there is a history there.. It makes me wonder, did the Sharks know about it? Given their history, I think an investigation is worth doing.

But, it really just sounds like he is trying to play the victim card since he got caught. It's an embarrassment that he is able to and the media will just run with that..

Be expecting an interview by Erin Molan on the Footy Show next year about it.

He'll cop a 3 week ban and a fine that he will be able to pay off with the money in his pocket and that will be it.

It sound bizarre that Barba would be testing positive to this especially after how he was stood down by the Bulldogs for alcohol and gambling he always struck me as someone that has problems away from the game but it looked like he had gotten his life back on track completely and was free of everything.
