CROSS FORUM NRL Round 1 - Las Vegas

How the **** are Sharks always talked about when it comes to premiership contenders? They have never shown anything to suggest they have the steel required.

Nicho's a good bloke mate.

I think it's mainly due to them being top 4 the last couple of years? Never mind the easy as **** draw...

How is AFB going to bring the sharks any closer to a premiership lol... it's been their spine that's the problem for YEARS. Easiest draw EVERY year and they hardly leave Sydney as well. Hynes can only run downhill, and the 3 others are SEVERLY over rated as well, would be back ups in most of the contenders spines. Could you imagine any other contenders spine not getting closer to a premiership with the pack they have.

Also, afb will score a try and get a few quick ptb and offloads but he will also cost you 1 or 2 tries in defence. His lateral speed in defence is matt lodge like.

Yeah, Nicho just proving he is NOT the guy once again.
At some point Cronulla will have to look at tweaking the squad or the coach.
Nicho is a running half or fullback playing at 7 which hamstrings his game.
Sharks will play finals from between 5 and 3 , win one lose one and get bundled out when the big dicks stand up .

if we thought we got ripped off going to the footy in Australia, then check out the prices that Slothfield has reported Allegiant Stadium charged:

• US $15.99 or AUD $25.76 for a Premium draft beer

• US $7.99 or AUD $12.87 for a bottle of Coca Cola

• US $16.99 or AUD $27.37 for a sub sandwich

• US $9.99 or AUD $16.09 for a foot-long hotdog

• US $14.99 or AUD $24.15 for a popcorn

The US is ridiculous . Everyone claims it's cheaper over there but that's BS.
Went over there in May 23 .
Buying booze in Dan Murphys equivalent is cheap as but buying in a venue it's at least the same price as OZ plus the exchange rate plus local tax and state tax depending where you are.
We saw a show on Broadway and the cost of a drink was 50$ AUS .
The cost of a bottle of Kraken was 25$ AUS at Dan Murphys equivalent.
Bought the Kraken at Dan Murphys equivalent , got hammered in my room, no brainer, then went to Time Square .

That women's International was fucking embarrassing for the sport. What the **** were England thinking turning up in that state? They spat in the face of the NRL after demanding they be allowed to take part.

The Sharks are asking the NRL for answers after Ashley Klein denied McInnes a captains challenge.

The Sharks were on the attack with 16 minutes to go and McInnes was ruled to have lost the ball, the Panthers were leading 24-16 at the time.

The commentators were talking about a possible challenge as there were Panthers hands all over the ball when it came loose ... I also remember wondering why in the hell they didn't challenge that one

But professional foul into a challenge prior to the ruck... something they said wasn't allowed anymore is apparently all good again... storm and Bellamy will be happy

Geez Nathan is special. I almost fell into the trap of hating him a few years ago but he really is an honour to watch.

Agreed. When you are legit in conversation of who would you prefer - Cameron Smith, Darren Lockyer or Nathan Cleary, you are an all time great.

It would be funny if you asked NSW would they want Joey or Cleary... they talk about Cleary like he's already an immortal, but are they ready to say that he can usurp their "messiah"

That's a very spicy question I think. I like it. Don't we have a couple of NSW supporters amongst us? They just keep it hidden.

I'm a Knights sympathiser as many on here know (they are my second team) and so therefore really appreciate what Johns did for that club but come on, Cleary is phenomenal and his career isn't even done yet. Johns gets a bad wrap because he seems a space cadet and often understandably so but he was an amazing player. Cleary though is just the complete player, he' special in the same way Smith was. These guys are freaks.

It was a different game back then, a better game. Johns was actually allowed to get creamed, halves these days aren't for some reason. Johns wins hands down.

No one has been able to play in a dinner suit the way Cleary has. He'll cop a shot every now and again but Lockyer, Johns, Thurston (until he became protected) copped those shots 3-4 times a game and knew it was just part of their job. In fact, look at Cleary's Origin record. I'm sure if he's given the same platform the NSW team have had the last 2 years, he'll perform like he does at club level (which you'll assume he'll get this year and won't the media love it) but without absolute dominance, field position, and fatigued and frustrated opposition, Clearly has been shut down.
