My top Roosters team for 2014

1: Anthony Minichiello
2: Anthony Tupuo
3: Michael Jennings
4: Shaun Kenny-Dowall
5: Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
6: James Maloney
7: Mitchell Pearce
8: Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
9: Jake Friend
10: Sam Moa
11: Aiden Guerra
12: Sonny Bill-Williams
13: Boyd Cordner

14: Daniel Mortimer
15: Frank Paul-Nuuausala
16: Dylan Napa
17: Mitch Aubusson

Backs - Very young and extremely talented backline with Minichiello the only player over 30. Scored the more points than any other side last year and a very capable of putting on a try out of nothing. Minichiello is nearing the end but his experience and guidance last year was outstanding and serves as the mentor for the team.

Forwards - Like the backs the Roosters have a very talented forward pack boasting some very underrated talent in Guerra, bash and barge forwards like Wearea-Hargreaves and Moa. The hooker Jake Friend really came of age last year and was crucial in the premiership win. SBW aids the forwards tremendously but Cordner plays a vital role as well making the Roosters pack stronger.

Bench - Very useful bench to have has the combination of speed, strength and FPN to use as front-rower in short bursts. I hope Napa gets a good share of game-time next year he is a very good young prospect and showed some stuff last year.

Where I think they'll finish - The Roosters have one of the most talented teams in the competition if not the most talented. How they will cope with being the defending premiers will be interesting but I think they'll settle in sooner rather than later. Robinson's coaching is one of the most professional I've ever seen and I think he will get the team settled into their natural game early. They are also aided that they have experienced minimal changes in the roster and none in the key departments. I'm expecting the Roosters to finish in top 4 and be contenders again.

Is Marmin good enough to play FG? I've seen people talk him up, but he still hasn't made his debut (?).

Where?

Marmin looked promising when he was younger but had his development interrupted by cancer. He's a long-shot of playing first grade, just a move to appease Benny boy and may improve our 9s team.

Should probably start giving my thoughts on these squads.

This is how I see the Dogs lining up...at least to start off with...

1. Morris 2. Perrett 3. Lafai 4. Inu 5. Brown
6. Reynolds 7. Hodkinson
8. Tolman 9. Ennis 10. Kasiano 11. Pritchard 12. Jackson 13. Eastwood

14. Graham 15. Finucane 16. Klemmer 17. Williams

Coach: Hasler

- I believe the key here is the coach. If it was anybody else, I'd be predicting them to finish around 9th maybe 10th but Des will ensure a high level of consistensy and will get the best out of that forward pack which in my opinion, ranks right up there with the best of them.

- I suspect 2014 will be similar to 2013, they'll start better, but will still be stuck in the middle of the road before they start picking teams off around Origin and will build from there. I suspect by that time, they'll have to sorted out their backline and we'll see some rookies making a nice difference to their side. My predictions at this stage include Templeman & Sila.

- I expect them to just jag a place in the top 8, much to my own dismay. They'll play a basic brand of footy which will centre around short passes and controlling the ruck for Ennis to weave his magic and create space out-wide for the Doggies backline to perform the bare minimum. That will be enough for a lot of games, but against the better teams, they'll be exposed.

I thought Tuquiri signed a one year deal with Souths ?

So bman, what you wrote on the previous page was I assume, Tuquiri playing union between last NRL season and this one. Has he a guest stint or something ?
