It's nice to see the NRL continue to release old matches in full with good quality.

Hopefully they don't treat it like the Classic Match section of their website which they abandoned after the competition resumed.

Anyone got a favourite match they'd love to see uploaded? Storm vs. Broncos Round 10 2000 for me is the holy grail.

Round 17, 1998 vs Melbourne at ANZ.

First ever match against Melbourne and I was there for that game so I would like to watch it again.

I've got the finals game against Melbourne from that season but it's shitty quality and I would like to see a better quality version.

Also Round 4, 2000 vs Cronulla. The game that gave the Broncos the belief they could win the comp in 2000.

Not a favourite game, but I also want them to upload Round 1 2007 vs Cowboys.

It was probably the one match I didn't mind losing to the Cowboys because of how good that winning try was.

I remember watching the game and remember saying to my dad, "you watch JT is going to put Bowen through here".

Then it happened.

It was actually from further out than I thought. I thought Cowboys were on the half way line.

It was a typical JT/Bowen try. The only downside of the video is the shit music.

The Cowboys were a fun team to watch. I rewatched it from a Broncos perspective and found it frustrating more than anything. A couple of decent passages where they gave themselves opportunities but just some awful errors at bad times, poor defensive lapses and some questionable selections brought them down.

07 was incredibly deflating for the Broncos. My expectations were sky-high after the end of 06 and it was like that run to the finals never happened. It was like they had an Origin hangover in March. Then in a strange turn of events, the Origin series woke the star players up and they played as well as they could against a mounting injury toll.

I would have thought the Broncos/Sharks game would have been uploaded since it was replayed on Fox but no dice. I may have even reviewed it here around the time it was aired, my recollection is that it was scrappy right up until the finish.

I'm sure the game did wonders for their confidence but now that you mention it, I swear Gordie revealed in the 2000 retrospective Fox had that it was the Melbourne game I brought up. After the game the Broncos were that thrilled that they could compete against all adversity that they started to believe.

I could be conflating that with Parker's story about 2015 and how it was the defensive resolve against Melbourne.

For me, it was the second half performance against the Tigers. Wests were one of the form teams of the competition at the time and it was no surprise that the scores were tied at half-time. Then came the second half, Brisbane went to another level and just destroyed them. They did that to everyone and even managed to hold our own against the Chooks without all our star players until they kicked the Broncos teeth in the second half.

There's another person uploading old Sea Eagles games.

They aren't the best quality, but they are watchable. This one is Round 1, 1998 between the Sea Eagles and the Broncos.

NZRugbyLeagueVids and Sportscaster91 has some good vids as well.

Was happy to get my hands on the Roosters/Sharks '02 games.

I remember personally thinking we were getting our shit together and were a chance at defending our crown just before lockyer did his knee. Once that happened it was all over. Seem to recall early in the year we played the warriors and perry chipped and chased and scored, was reminiscent of Langer in his day. Remember thinking maybe there's a bit more to this bloke than being a Sean rudder foil for lockyer.

And of course, the 4 try haul by Jennings...

I remember this game, Round 24 '99 vs Manly.

I was on the way home from the Sunshine Coast listening to it on the radio. Broncos were up by 6 with 5 to go and I remember being in the back of the car hanging out the window giving my uncle shit who was in the car behind us and a Manly fan. Then Terry Hill busts through two players to get in the open and beats Lockyer to score in the corner. Then Reeves who was 2 from 5 nails the conversion from the sideline. I didn't hear the end of it.

Broncos were up 26-4 with 30 minutes to go. Ends in a 26-all draw. Says a lot about the Broncos that season.

I'm not a footy nerd by any stretch of the imagination.........I'm certainly no student.

Our first GF victory still remains strong, emotionally...
memory recall of the day
.......even the physicality of watching the game.
Hard to go past......92 as a season(?)

I'm a simple guy.......

I shared all the Middleton reports from that year including Test and Origin.

It's a special time and I'm incredibly jealous you and others were there to enjoy it. I was too busy dancing to Humphrey B. Bear to notice.

Nothing will ever replace the feeling, the hype in the city at that time I think. The paper running coupons for your GF gear which from memory was a slurpee, hot dog and a packet of chips from 7-11. Watching the game and making the trip over to Red Hill to welcome the boys back. We were in the crowd, screaming our lungs out when the bus pulled up. Just unreal.

I want access to all of them really. Would be good to have full seasons. I'm sick of fox playing the same games over and over.

Any of the thrashings over Cows/Knights/Storm between 98-06 would be sweet.

This was meant to be happening already.

NRL were meant to open their archive and give everyone access to all of the footage they have years ago, but it's never happened.

I don't think it ever will. They could charge a monthly subscription fee for access to the whole archive and make a killing from it, but they would rather keep all of the footage under lock and key and only give us a few matches once in a blue moon.

Every now and then NRL will upload an old match on their YouTube channel.

They have the Round 12, 2003 match between the Broncos and the Knights. This was the first game at Suncorp since the renovations were done and the Broncos moved their permanently.

It wasn't a good day for the Broncos, unfortunately.

@Big Pete you might like this channel, if you haven't found it already.

I don't think he uploads any NRL games, mainly ESL games but he also uploads a ton of Internationals like the 2006 Tri-Nations.

Probably my favourite match of that series is Game 2 between Aus and NZ when Aus score two tries in the last 5 minutes to snatch victory.

I actually wonder would that Gasnier try be given under today's interpretation of the obstruction rule?

Firstly, Hunt receiving the ball on the inside shoulder of Ryan. And if they clear that part, Ryan makes contact with Jones and knocks him back a bit which seems to have an affect on Jones's ability to make an effective tackle on Hunt. The contact forces Jones to back-pedal and allows Hunt that extra room to run at Jones at speed.

I think if that try were scored today, it would have been pulled back.

I guess it’s a bit of a moot point, but one thing I like to do when watching old matches is looking at which tries if scored in today’s game would be given and which would be knocked back.
