When I read that, I nearly jumped for joy, then I opened the article...

The Maddick hate especially this year is way over-blown. She has been good even great at times this year.

Very likely they’re getting a fair number of players back from said pathways that went to other clubs.

Dunno if a winger/fullback from Tweed Heads counts though

I think Dam and Robbo are good enough - Loz was my best on ground today

Mele and Shenae didn't have great seasons as far as metre-making goes. Never shirked their work but just weren't as effective as usual in that regard

I think we need to move on from Vinny. She's been a legend for the team, and tries her hardest every game and is not a bad player by any means, but we need another hard-running forward on that bench and she just doesn't have the size.

It'll be an interesting off-season to say the least, seeing who'll stay or sign elsewhere, even a year in advance:

Players off-contract now:

Ashleigh Werner, Bree Spreadborough, Hannah Larsson, Hayley Maddick, Jada Ferguson, Jasmine Fogavini, Lauren Dam, Lavinia Gould, Stacey Waaka, Tazmin Rapana

Everyone else is off contract after 2025 except for Bri Clark, Julia Robinson, Keilee Joseph* (2 years of mutual options starting in 26), Romy Teitzel, and we have a club option for Skyla Adams for 26

Yeah you can't carry both Brill and Vinny on the bench.

Who would you go for? Would you promote from within or bring in someone even possibly looking over in England? Butler from Knights isn't contracted for '25 and not sure if she's signed anywhere else. I feel like she would be good off the bench, big body and hard to stop.

I would be keeping an eye on that situation with Cowboys, as well. Talk of them moving to Cairns and apparently quite a few of the players aren't happy with that.
