I was looking at an article of the Bulldogs NRLW signings so far and the article had the caption.

"The Bulldogs make a splash in the player market signing a number of big names. Brisbane Broncos fullback Hayley Maddick joins the..."

When I read that, I nearly jumped for joy, then I opened the article...

The Bulldogs make a splash in the player market signing a number of big names. Brisbane Broncos fullback Hayley Maddick joins the show off the back of a record breaking game last week.

My heart sank.

The Maddick hate especially this year is way over-blown. She has been good even great at times this year.
 
Nicholls leaving Raiders to join the Warriors next season.

I wonder if we're going to lose Stacey to the Warriors, as well. She's only signed for '24. I hope to god we don't.

Looked like Roosters were going to pack on a score in their game. Isabelle Kelly also left the field in a bad way, looks like her season is done.

So much for the Bulldogs “very strong” female system down there. Majority of their signings have been from raiding NRLW clubs.

Very likely they’re getting a fair number of players back from said pathways that went to other clubs.

Dunno if a winger/fullback from Tweed Heads counts though
 
I hope to see us recruit a metre eating winger for next year.

Waaka won’t be staying next year, not with a WC on.

I would also like to see us recruit another front rower that’s hard to stop and can provide impact off the bench.

I think Dam and Robbo are good enough - Loz was my best on ground today

Mele and Shenae didn't have great seasons as far as metre-making goes. Never shirked their work but just weren't as effective as usual in that regard

I think we need to move on from Vinny. She's been a legend for the team, and tries her hardest every game and is not a bad player by any means, but we need another hard-running forward on that bench and she just doesn't have the size.

It'll be an interesting off-season to say the least, seeing who'll stay or sign elsewhere, even a year in advance:

Players off-contract now:

Ashleigh Werner, Bree Spreadborough, Hannah Larsson, Hayley Maddick, Jada Ferguson, Jasmine Fogavini, Lauren Dam, Lavinia Gould, Stacey Waaka, Tazmin Rapana

Everyone else is off contract after 2025 except for Bri Clark, Julia Robinson, Keilee Joseph* (2 years of mutual options starting in 26), Romy Teitzel, and we have a club option for Skyla Adams for 26

Yeah you can't carry both Brill and Vinny on the bench.

Who would you go for? Would you promote from within or bring in someone even possibly looking over in England? Butler from Knights isn't contracted for '25 and not sure if she's signed anywhere else. I feel like she would be good off the bench, big body and hard to stop.

I would be keeping an eye on that situation with Cowboys, as well. Talk of them moving to Cairns and apparently quite a few of the players aren't happy with that.

I don't know if we need anyone.

Might see Shalom debut next year - there'll be a few eyes on her after her perfomance for Ipswich SHS in the National Schoolgirls Cup final (amongst other achievements already):



She plays lock and is the first try scorer and goalkicker

A bit of a little wrecking ball - she's about Destiny Brill's stature so it remains to be seen how effective she'll be against the seasoned players and not schoolgirls, but she's already played Super W and if there's one thing she's got, it's drive and energy
