isnt that brock lamb kid supposed to be pretty good?

Re: NYC Round 16 - Broncos vs Storm

Fai has been promoted to the Intrust Super Cup and will play off the bench for the Souths Logan Magpies. In his place will be Lanskey who was rested last week following his performance for the Maroons U/18s.

No word on S'ua.

Newcastle are a better side since we last played them but will be without Danny Levi and Luke Yates.

He's a very talented prospect but he's still very inexperienced even at this level.

Re: NYC Round 16 - Broncos vs Storm

lamb and cogger are both very very vood players still very young and inexperienced.
im hearing su'a has issues relating to his school, im not 100% sure but i think he goes to a rah rah school and due to his scholarship he is required to play union now and not allowed to play league for the remainder of the year. i could be wrong but ill see if i can find more out

His name is Brock?

I had a mate at school named Brock, it's a reasonably common name these days I think, but regardless all I can think of is -

Re: NYC Round 16 - Broncos vs Storm

Yep got the know on sua in Melbourne. Will be missing during rugby GPS season as he is 17 in year 12 and parents want him to graduate. Be back later on in year. He's young, but on stats is one of the best performing back rowers in the NYC and as Danoz said would not be out of place in 20s origin.

Re: NYC Round 16 - Broncos vs Storm

I didn't think Brock Lamb was as effective as Cogger in 18s but big wraps on him from people that know more than I do!

Cogger is more structured and generally drives the team forward with a good kicking game, he plays pretty square and all around general play (I hate to put a big wrap on a kid, but plays like a mini cooper cronk) Where as Lamb is more of an instinctve ball player, he drifts then can straighten with a drop of the shoulder and a fairly decent left foot step too. He can cut the defense up pretty good, but that will all come down to his outside men running good lines and the big boys in the middle making yards. Both lads are still growing, lamb is pretty slight in frame still.

Has Brimson played centre before?

Any word on why Ash in back in the 20's?

Not sure why they are still playing Joffa in the 20's. For his development he needs to be playing against men so that he is ready for a full time role next year.

Lamb's strength is kicking and support play; he's very good at both. Levi and Smith are big holes to fill this week for the Knights.

They're both a week to week decision. I said at the start they'd be up and back as development and results dictates.

Broncos have recovered from a slow start to lead 40-18 with little left to go.
[MENTION=8536]Super Freak[/MENTION], I see that Paul Byrnes is playing. Were there any other late changes to the NYC side?

Impressions and reports would be greatly appreciated.

Young Broncos Hand Out Knightmare

The NRMA Insurance Broncos have finished strongly to defeat the Newcastle Knights 40-18 and cement their top-four position in the National Youth Competition.
After losing both Jack Tuttle and Keegan Hipgrave to knee and back injuries respectively in the first half, Brisbane showed plenty of character to dig deep and win after trailing by six points at half time.
Young Brisbane half Ash Taylor shone with a hand in two tries while scoring one himself to prove why many think he is ‘Taylor made’ for NRL.
Down 12- 6 at half time the Broncos needed to be the first to score in the second half.
Brisbane struck early in the 42[SUP]nd[/SUP] minute through Kalolo Saitaua, who proved too strong powering through the Newcastle’s line defence.
Just like the first half the teams went tit for tat and the Knights responded immediately through Bradie Smith.
With a depleted bench and a fast-flowing game the Broncos should have been tiring.
Enter Ash Taylor.
Taylor responded for Brisbane with a double pump then with a crisp cut-out pass hit Lachlan Lanskey on the chest to score in the corner to level the scores 18 apiece.
The floodgates were opening and in the 58[SUP]th[/SUP] minute Broncos reserve Sam Lavea found Jayden Nikorima in space to give the Broncos their first lead of the game.
Taylor was at it again in Brisbane’s next set, showing off his slick passing skills with another well-timed ball for Jonus Pearson to score out wide.
Nikorima was having a “knight” to remember, scoring his second in the 67[SUP]th[/SUP] minute to give the Broncos a 16-point lead.
Hooker Jayden Berrell put the icing on the cake scoring under the posts in the 74[SUP]th[/SUP] minute to cap off an impressive second half for Brisbane with a depleted interchange.
The opening 10 minutes of the first half was a stalemate with neither side able to capitalise on good field position.
Both teams found themselves over the white stripe at one point or another, but were held up through desperate defence.
It took a stroke of luck to break the deadlock, with Brock Lamb collecting a grubber kick which deflected off the posts to open the scoring for the Knights.
Brisbane were looking for direction and lock Jai Arrow was happy to point the way.
In the 26[SUP]th[/SUP] minute the Broncos were able to split the Knights defence through a well-rehearsed in-out ball which was finished off by Ash Taylor trailing in support to touch down under the posts.
The scores weren’t level for long, with Newcastle putting on an almost identical play resulting in Jake McNamara scoring to give Newcastle a handy 12-6 lead in the shadows of half time.
The Knights camped themselves on Brisbane line and forced a repeat set in the dyeing moments and should have extended their lead but were denied by a forward pass.

Brisbane 40 (J. Nikorima 2, A. Taylor, K. Saitaua, L. Lanskey, J. Berrell tries; A.Taylor 6 goals) defeated Newcastle 18 (B. Lamb, J. McNamara, B. Smith tries; B. Lamb 3 goals) at Suncorp Stadium.

Just realised I have no idea who the captain is for our under 20's.

I'm not sure about this one.

I ended up skipping this game and giving my membership to one of my brothers and there wasn't any mention from the Broncos social media about late changes.
