when his playing his an awesome player and i love watching him. But he is just to prone to injury. When was the last full season he played? Poor Bloke need to hang up the boots

Watch for 2010 to be a big year for Tatey, he will force his way back into the Origin side, recapturing his 2006 form (SoO 3 - he was absolutely on fire) and he brings so much passion to the Qld team

However, if 2010 is like 2009 for him I will have to agree with you, it will be time to hang up the neck brace

I Hope Tate does come back bigger and better. But just like Locky he should not play Origin.

What? I love his passion - he grows 20 feet taller in a maroon jersey, despite his lack of talent under the high ball - hopefully something he's been working on

yeh but who would move for him? only choice would be Boyd and he needs the experience for when Hodges moves on

Tate - best origin player! [icon_razz1

Honestly though - he bloody kills it and goes all pshycho... its awesome.

Learn to crawl before you run a marathon though. Can't be trying to do TOO much when he comes back. Sucks how he could not be part of this year's series.

I'd drop that beige, mannequin, cardboard individual that boyd is for Tate's passion every day of the year - though, as mentioned, he would need to get back on his feet and have a good 2010 lead up - plus Qld has been good at rewarding incumbents, which Tate technically is

Along with some of our gun U20s forwards (Hala, Lui, Lingwoodock) I would also like to see Matt Gillett get a shot sometime next year. I really like this kid and think he has a future. He could play a similar role to Glenn off the bench but mainly playing in the back row as thats his best position.
Just putting it out there. :)

Gillet reckons he will play first game and be starting by season end... his also a cocky bastard and is gonna be awesome to watch fire up on the field

You know him or something?

I don't appreciate cocky bastards playing for the broncos unless they are justin hodges or michael ennis.

Has anyone heard anything further on lockyer's contract being signed? Wouldn't that be a major jaw dropper if after the four nations he turned around and announced his retirement??? Am I correct in assuming that at the present time he is not signed for next year?

ive heard nothing and he said not long ago he is signing when he comes back to AUS.

Im starting to think he is about to retire as well

Yes, I don't know why, I just have that vibe. I just can't understand how it would take that long to finalise a contract and get it signed. Plus with overtaking all of the records for the National side that he has on this tour, if they win, it would be a great way to go out.

Lockyer is not retiring, he has agreed in principle to 2 years and its just a matter of him putting pen to paper.... it has taken as long as it has because the majority of his contract is coming from third party deals, not on the salary cap, that his manager mimis has had to go out and find...
