Opinions Thread

actually i think he means someone at the Broncos has an agenda, but yeah the point of this thread is to be able to post something you feel and everyone knows its just an opinion not a fact.

I know where Beale is coming from about Setu and Teo though - I just don't think they have grown on us yet. First year as a Bronco... and the Broncos are different now... veeeeeeery young squad... With players jumping ship all over the place and not much hard nut veterans I think it will take a while before they show their true passion for our club.

In saying that, it's all very diff now...

If anybody could possibly think Meyers or Carlaw had more heart than Clinton then the world is flat and Sydney>Brisbane.

The forwards mentioned above will take ownership of their role and the team next year and with the experience of 09 behind them they will be better for it.

Bruno Cullen's time is and has been over for 3 years but he won't be replaced by the boys club. Hopefully the broncos can stem the tide or else facing the dilemma the reds have - plenty of talent in the region, a proud heritage but ruined by spoilt, smug and careless administrators.

Teo' has loads of potential, very skillful and has size about him aswell... but hes also young, lazy and selfish... if he can mature he will come on leaps and bounds imo...

To be honest I don't think Meyers deserves the crap dished out to him over the years and I don't think he played without heart nor less then Clinton, infact I tend to think he was a player that would still carry on even when the worst was upon him, he may not have produced the results you wanted from him but I don't think he can be accused of not out there showing heart. His biggest issue was that he lost confidence with the ball in his hands, he was still out there pushing himself to make the metres the team needed from him, it was such a shame that he developed a tendency to drop the ball as time went on because he was still showing in his hitups that with confidence he could make those valuable metres that made him the prospect he was touted as being.

It depends... he really, really let us down with his guaranteed one or two knock ons per match...

He just lost his way a bit and it ended up in a vicious cycle. Carbon copy Carlaw... and when two of your backrowers who were meant to step in to the arena around that time and take over the old nuts... well... we all know what happened.... timing is everything.

Thats the thing he wasn't a carbon copy of Carlaw, Meyers was still out there pushing himself trying to turn it around which shows heart, true he may not have got the results and could be fustrating but he was still putting in and thats what counts. Carlaw on the otherhand you would watch him and there really was nothing to suggest when he was on the field when his playing style dropped off that he was really out there putting in, he was soft in all departments and it showed.

Broncos deny Bird reports
WAYNE HEMING

November 27, 2009 - 9:14AM
AAP
The Brisbane Broncos have rejected reports they are in the race to sign sacked Cronulla star Greg Bird.
"The Broncos have not joined the race to sign Greg Bird whatsoever," Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen told AAP on Friday morning after reports on radio and TV morning shows linking the six-time premiers to the Origin player.
"That's totally incorrect."
Asked if that meant Brisbane were not interested in Bird, Cullen said: "We've got no interest in him at this time".
North Queensland have emerged as early favourites to secure the controversial Bird with chief executive Peter Parr declaring few rival NRL clubs could match a Cowboys offer.
Bird is likely to resume his NRL career in 2010 after a conviction against him for recklessly wounding his girlfriend was quashed on appeal on Wednesday.
However, NRL boss David Gallop has warned Bird's re-registration won't be automatic.
The Gold Coast have been linked to Bird, with the former Test and Cronulla five-eighth reportedly not keen to return to playing with a Sydney club.
But Titans chief executive Michael Searle said the club's salary cap was "maxed out" and Bird would have to be willing to play for match fees

Thank god for that...

Indeed, thank god - I can't relax, all morning I was planning petitions to the broncos

An Opinion of mine here based on not the Broncos club but the general Bronco fan...

STFU with the "we are gonna be shit next year" talk. Every year in the papers at the pub on a forum its the same old crap. "Oh we lost this guy we will be shit next year better sign up who ever we can". Ok Hunt is gone clinton is gone(soon) we lost a couple we do it every year and every year we make the finals.

last year we fell 1 game short with a squad that everyone claimed wouldnt make the 8. Tuck it up inside and start looking at what we do have.

Lockyer,Hodges,Izzy,Wallace

Setu,teo,Parker,Sims

Yow Yeh,Winter,Kemp

We have a squad that can do it and some great young blokes ready to hit A Grade running. We support the club with the best record in league. Show some damn pride in the guys we have.

Well said draggx. Front row might be a little light on, especially without a Webcke, Civoniceva or Lazarus, but we were spoiled to have those three at the Broncos consistently from 1992-2007.

We've got ample talent across the park and there's no reason to expect anything but a strong season, and finals at the very minimum.

word up guys. Broncos for P7! Every year i expect this, and I have every reason to. I support the greatest rugby league side in the world. We are the fn Broncos!!!

And if I may venture an opinion...I fucking hate it when any player comes off contract, is released, or otherwise is mentioned as being available, someone on here wants to sign them. FFS, yes, there are some players that are worth considering. But most of the ones mentioned are not!
