Ok, so we're just over halfway through the season, so i think now would be a fitting time to evaluate how our new signings have performed. Try not to be too negative. [icon_razz1
Israel Folau
Shake your money maker. I think Israel has been outstanding on the wing for us. He's had some trouble when playing as a centre, but in the future i think he could be a massive threat there. His aerial ability is second to none and he's a brilliant finisher. Overall he's had a largely positive season, the only negatives i can see are in the defensive side of his game, but some coaching can fix that up.

Lagi Setu
This fella has copped a fair bit of flak over the last few weeks after some weak displays. Fair enough as well. I'll be honest, i rate Setu highly but he has had a poor season thus far. His tackling technique needs some work and his ball security seems to be lacking. He hasn't really had a strong impact in any of our games. To be fair though, i don't think Henjak has really used him correctly. He should be running wide, on the fringes looking to latch onto a ball from Wallace or Lockyer. Doesn't excuse his poor defensive showings though.

Ben Te'o
People were calling for him to be dropped after all of three rounds which i think was a tad unfair. I think this chap has done ok for us so far. He's been solid in most games and a standout in one or two. We've seen glimpses of his ability to hit the line, plus he gets through around 30 tackles each game which isn't bad. He has a bit of character about him and is a good player to have in the squad for morale IMO.

Antonio Winterstein
The youngster from the Roosters didn't even expect to play first grade this season! His early season form was excellent, although recently he's dipped. Playing outside Steve Michaels doesn't help considering he never passes the ball. Like Folau, he's a very good finisher and has good communication with the halves as we've seen with the Wallace/Winterstein special which involves the grubber into the corner. Defensively questions have to be asked. He doesn't look all that confident under the high ball and he's not a big strong fella, so close to the line he can be beaten quite easily. On an overall level though, price wise he has been a revelation. I think he'll be a mainstay in the team for a few years yet.

Aaron Gorrell
Bit of a gamble this chap. He hasn't played in a few weeks, though he might be back in the team soon the way we're playing. I think he's been disappointing. He may have good organisational skills and 'lead the forwards around the paddock' well but his game is lacking talent wise. His passes from dummy-half are slow and i don't recall ever seeing him taking a run which made more than one metre. There's no dynamism to his game. Needs to improve.
