I never said thaiday was crap, i said the way he was played was crap and i stand by that because once he stopped running at the markers (starting last year) and running a bit wider, he turned into the best second rower in the game. this year, he rarely runs directly back at the marker and look how well thats working for him! in fact, that would be another point for me being right again!

So how is that any different to Jeb saying Michaels was playing well in 2008 before he got injured and then Jeb aknowledigng later down the track that Michaels has turned shit?

Let me translate this for you:

Jeb in 2008: "Michaels is playing well"
Jeb in 2010: "Michaels has turned absolutely shit"

Queenslander in 2008: "Thaiday played crap"
Queenslander in 2010: "Thaiday has now turned into the best second rower in the comp.

Incorrect. Michaels was never good. He wasnt a good player being played the wrong way, he was just bad.

Thaiday was a good player, just being used ineffectively. Now that thaiday is being used effectively, he is reaching his potential. Michael has been being used effectively for the broncos this year, playing the best position for him - Left Right Out

theres a big difference to being a bad player in general, or just being played in the wrong way but i honestly wouldnt expect you to understand the difference between the 2

how is thaiday considered a certainty for origin? i dont rate him, all he does is run at markers and drop to his stomach. Ok, this could be how the coach has him playing, ill give him that, but its useless and if he plays like that in origin he is just a wasted spot. he played horribly last night.

LOLZ. That's cool. Not going to argue weather Michaels played well or not. However, most of the forum as well as QLD selectors agreed with us (by putting him in the emerging squad due to his form early that year) and I'll take the opinion of QLD selectors over you any day of the week.

So whats changed? Michael is still the same player, why isnt he "good" anymore?

Cooper has been listed at 4 and Michaels at 3, i assume they will mark each other, if not that means when gasnier comes on michaels will be marking him. Could be ever more entertaining

Thaiday took plenty of hit ups and runs out wide 2 years ago but he would nearly always drop to his knees. You're a poor analyst of the game if you think Thaiday is great now purely because he is playing a more wider role.

Thaiday 2008:
- Dropped to his knees in most tackles thus lacked the ability to make metres.
- Poor poor handling skills.
- Laziness in defence
- Couldn't play 80 minutes (unfit)

Thaiday 2010:
- Has leg drive now.
- Isn't a liability with the ball in his hands
- Is one of our best defence.
- Often plays 80 minutes. Better fitness.

Now if you think that the above had changed in 2010 just because of the way "Bennett played him" then that's extremely laughable.

Well no shit he changed a lot more than just running wider lol. But the main thing he took out has been running directly back at the markers imo. That was his biggest downfall prior to 2009. Actually, the biggest change for the best has been Harmichael leaving his life i think. Certainly has got more serious and determined since then
