I' can't wait to see Folau run over the top of Gasnier LOL.
Opposite sides of the field, Folau will trample Cooper instead...Bucking Beads said:I' can't wait to see Folau run over the top of Gasnier LOL.
has kemp scored 2 miracle tries against parramatta? because in 2008, when lockyer kicked for kemp to win the game in the last seconds, Peter Wallace played the ball to David Stagg, Stagg passed it to Lockyer, then Lockyer kicked to Kemp. Thaiday was nowhere to be seen.Jeba said:Do you even understand why he did that though? QUICK PLAY THE BALL!!!
He didn't do it looking for a line break, he did it to put markers on the back foot. And watch the whole set of 6 leading up to the Denan Kemp miracle try against Parramatta to see how effective it can be. Thaiday ran at markers, went to his knees, played it straight away, and PJ Marsh was able to scoot out of dummy half for very important metres which put us in the position to win the game.

nothing thaiday did in the lead up to the try was important. the last tackle had nothing to do with him, and thats where we won it.
thaiday ran back at the markers on nearly every run. not to get quick play the balls, because dropping to your knees as soon as you get touched constitutes as dominant tackle, therefore getting an even SLOWER play the ball than just a regular hitup. and he was rubbish when he did it. since about mid last year hes stopped doing it all together, and hes now regarded as the best second rower in the league. coincidence? i dont think so.

It doesn't constitute a dominant tackle, it constitutes a surrender tackle [icon_wink
It is coached at all levels to 'find your front,' a lot of players use the same technique Thaiday was using.
It isn't a coincidence I agree, but I think it has something more to do with Thaidays work ethic on and off the field that has made him become perhaps the best 2nd rower in the game. Giving up the durries and maccas has made a huge change to his game more than anything else imo. When you are fatigued it is a lot easier to take the option to find your front and get up quick by going down on contact as opposed to pushing through the line then finding your front which is Thaidays game now. Running wide or not running wide it doesn't make too much difference, however 2008 Thaiday would be sucking in the big ones after 15minutes and take shortcuts, 2010 Thaiday plays 80 solid minutes and has the extra fitness to make those efforts to push through the line before trying to QPTB.[/quote:20w5is4b]
Pffft...what would you know? You only play the game.
That try was. There was nothing special in any of the hitups before it. It was simply a moment of Lockyer brilliance that got that try. I know jeb said the whole set, but the whole set is irrelevant in that play.Coxy said:But we all know every try is created solely on the play the try is scored...everything in the lead up is irrelevant.

And no, it's not a surrender tackle. A surrender is when the ball carrier takes a dive. A dominant is when the defender stops all forward movement in the tackle. Thaiday hit the defense then dropped after his momentum had been stopped. Dominant tackle.
