He moved to Townsville at 14 and played rep u16/18s for aus/qld. Kirwan High and Tville Brothers. I’d say that counts as junior footy

Yep, it isn't the junior footy that rules Taumalolo in/out, it's the fact he played for New Zealand. Once you're a Kiwi, you can't be an Australian, and if you can't be Australian you can't play Origin.
