They're not exactly a book of truth...

That said, it's not exactly a new or unpopular rumour. Hardly going out on a limb with this prediction, even if they're jumping the gun.

There goes Hayne's money in one fell swoop. Maybe I'm just too big a fan of Hayne, but I can't ever see Foran being as valuable. He can't win games on his own. He can make those around him look better, he can give his halves partner more space. But he still needs decent talent around him to take advantage of it, and at that money there won't be much left in the cap for quality players when you have to share it amongst 24 others.

Couldn't agree more. Foran is massively overrated at the moment, and has looked no where near as good whenever he doesn't have Cherry-Evans, and to a lesser extent, Johnson taking the majority of playmaking duties. Pair him with a Sandow or Norman, ya, that's not gonna be too good.

But the extra 200 odd k he's on, that's money that can be paid to a few players to bump up contracts. It's a lot of money.

The salary cap is $7mil+, not $4mil.

Foran isn't as valuable as those players, and Parra have been pretty dumb with their money in general, spending overs on a whole bunch of players.
