Meh, its probably for the best, saved the club from itself spending silly money to keep a forward.

Would be hard to plan your roster if you dont know when $1.2million might just walk out on you. And given his history of chasing money...TBH if the clause was all that got him there we should be putting it in. It’s Payne we are talking about. And 1.2m isn’t overs for him. There’s more to this me thinks.
There is probably a 5% chance it even gets off the ground.
This is the Titans though lol - probably a clause/way for Tino to break his contract ...Tino maybe should have held off a bit longer making up his mind about staying on the coast.
My only thought if Payne's management is trying to sell it is that Payne gets the opportunity to be actually coached by Wayne.I dont get the appeal with him now to players. He's a players coach, looks out for them and all that but he hasn't got a team to finals since for 5 years and hasn't won a premiership for FIFTEEN YEARS. He might get 1 good season out of his team through "playing for the coach/motivation" but the game has passed him by, he will need some forward thinking assistants he listens to and respects to drag him to wins over coaches like bellamy and cleary.
If it was a choice between maximising his squad and sticking it to the Broncos am I wrong to be uncertain what Bennett would choose?Honestly. This is all Wayne Bennett.
Thanks for the 6 premierships, but it should have been more you under achieving fossil who lives to **** over the Broncos.
May you fizzle out into retirement like Billichick.
Yes, only getting similar money from Souths makes zero sense. Has to be the most important part of the story missing. And I am a supermodel
Uncle Nick absolutely fuming right now... rorters actually have cap space and he could easily give Payne a house to 'rent'... he gave Sandon Smith a house to 'rent' in Vaucluse and he's a backup half lolIt really doesn’t add up, I’m sure every club in the game is going to be cynical about the whole thing.
This is similar to the way the likes of Penrith operate when it comes to the salary cap and player retention.. they put a value on each of their players and they’re disciplined enough to stick to their numbers and not allow their roster ‘budget’ to get pulled out of shape..He wanted his cake and to eat it too. A 3 year deal but the ability to walk out on it if R360 happened. We weren't keen on that.
