The NFL scouts take character and family very seriously, and we should too but we don’t. Every year in the draft players that are top 12 talent drop out of the first round because they have some drug scandal or other character issue revealed just prior.

Sounds like the late, great Cyril Connell's playbook. I don't think the Broncos have yet recovered from his loss and the calibre of player he brought to our club.

The NSW Rugby League judiciary has hit Payne's uncle Larry with a 12 week ban for racing 30 metres across the field to king hit Ray Hadley's son in law, Brad Clark, in the back of the head:

"Clark sought medical treatment for concussion the next day and was sent for brain scans. He suffered headaches for a week but was cleared of a long-term brain injury. The two major players involved in the fight, Larry and Mark Taufua, are the brothers of Haas’ mother, who was jailed last month after pleading to punching and spitting at security staff at Gold Coast casino. He was banned for 16 weeks, later reduced to 12 weeks after a guilty plea. I had originally assumed they were parents attending a kids game. Not quite as bad when it was a game they were playing, especially seeing as they didn't start it.

A toxic person is toxic no matter where they go, but yet no issue at the club he's at now. They have nothing but good things to say about him.
