I have been watching and reading a bit recently about Souths number 6 John Sutton.

Apparently he has begun to model himself on former Wests Magpies and Bulldogs 5 / 8 Terry Lamb.

He has changed his hairdo to copy Lamb, he is often seen in Bulldogs gear during his social outings and has insisted that his friends refer to him as 'Baa".
For me, though, it is clearly a shallow, cheap and obvious case of impersonation.

Personally, I think it is a clear case of Sutton done up as Lamb.

Ning, you are correct.
I was once Strapping Big Lad but i promised myself that I should reinvent myself, David Bowie style ( 1970 - 74 period only ) .
Many forum posters model themselves on famous rock starts or movie stars.
For me, though, I set my sights much lower.

I have always had delusions of mediocrity.

I have based my images on former 'Controversy Corner' panelist, Ferris Ashton.
Our older readers will remember him.

Every time I post, I picture myself in the Channel Seven studios in Sydney. In my mind's eye, I am being presented with the special guest gifts of a Ham by Meatpro, a stylish shirt from our good friends at Pelaco and a litre of dodgy orange juice.

Anyway, Ferris used to refer to some players as 'Strapping Big Lads' or 'Raw Boned Youngsters'.

I was an impressionable young fellow from Maitland - just up the road from you Ning.

However, I am rapidly running out of recycled cliches and I must confess that my days as a cutting edge forum contributor are probably coming to an end.

I am possibly one of the last forum members who still uses a type writer.

I am old.
I am tired and emotional.
And...

What better time to bid farewell to all of my friends on the these fine communication boards.
